Packing some groceries away and the wife dropped and smashed a litre bottle of fish sauce on the kitchen floor. Went under the fridge, the dishwasher and all over one of the cupboards.

Spent the last hour cleaning, sweeping and mopping. Have moved fridges, dishwashers cleaned around and underneath everything and the kitchen still stinks.

Get some aniseed oil or aniseed soap from a fishing/tackle shop. That stuff kills the smell like nothing else. We had the same issue (But with fish guts). Washed that stuff in the kitchen. Bang. Smell gone.

then buy a new (non fish sauce smelling) house with the insurance money..
