Even snow in Thredbo/Perisher are lack lustre in comparison to other notable areas in the world.

Yeah, we are pretty low on the table of great snow fields.
Still, it is good to have some in the country.

I'd love to go and do a ski trip in NZ or some of the European countries.

And if Benji comes along?

Seeing snow fall, yet alone snow on the fields is something completely different. Truly one of the most beautiful things you can ever experience.

I fondly remember driving into Thredbo a few years back, it was bucketing snow and just seeing white all around was beautiful. I remember jumping out of the car and just observing for a few minutes.

It's horrid in the city the next day though. Grey slush as far as the eye can see.

i remember at one point just spinning round and round looking at the snowfall..

of course, i was in my car, and had been taking a sharp corner at the time.. as it was also my first time driving through the snow & didn't have chains...

You were probably drunk too.

This Winter just gone I would always get out early and go for a walk on the heavy snowfall days (20-30cm) because it was so beautiful and still. Also, it wasn't icy yet and footing was good.

True, but in the mountains it stays quite nice for a while. I remember the day after it snowed, the village looked like a bomb shack. Grey snow slush and everything, took the charilift up, beautiful.

been to perisher as a kid and saw bits of snow heading through xcech repbulic and the last bits that still hang on the peaks at whistler in canada (where an idiot decided it was a good idea to admit to everyone on the bus he had never seen snow before, was sitting at the back so by the time he made it out on the ground there was several hundred snowballs waiting for him). Reminds of a great photo of me

deciding whether to do the stairs again tonight. Did them tues night and my legs are in agony. The talent that also does these stairs on a regular basis is definately worth the effort though

When I drove out of Yellowstone last year it was bucketing down snow, that was pretty epic. Although slightly unnerving to drive through

Would like to go back there in better weather and less rushed than I was. Was hoping to do a hike but it was freezing and I was v rushed after some airport/car hire f**k ups.

NZ is great for a snow trip. Better snow than Australia generally, heaps cheaper lift passes and accomodation and epic little towns. Love it over there.
