Thoroughly enjoyed my first Storm game. Nice to be at a game and not surrounded by Broncos supporters who still think Allan Langer is playing

Storm Knights game-day thread in full geniused swing.

Particularly liked how McKinnon was supposedly risking being paralysed for the rest of his life to get a penalty in a football game.

Can't actually believe anyone would think that.

It started off going nowhere and ended in the worst possible way. Hope he's ok.

I didn't think the tackle, from a foul play point of view, was that bad. Obviously it ended horribly, but there was no intent. Bit of a leg lift that toppled over due to the two blokes on top. I think the calls for a send off are a bit over the top.

Yeah people are being dumb both ways, as usual. Penalty/report sufficient. He tucked his head in as he thought he was going to flip over the whole way.

He was also clearly over the horizontal which was the difference between that tackle and the other ones people were qqing about no penalty.

When will these blokes learn that lifting from between the legs is a no go?

Intent or not, once you go between a blokes legs in a tackle and lift him, you change his whole centre of gravity. Basically, you make him top heavy. The result is almost always going to be ugly.

Lifting the legs never does f**k all anyway. Wrap up the ankles and get the others to roll him over. Same result without the bullshit.

It's such poor technique. The only time you should lift and drive in a tackle is when you get under a blokes ribs.

I can see why they do it though. Some of these forwards will struggle all day as long as they're upright.

McKinnon was able to move his arms and legs at last report on Triple M. He went straight to hospital after being stabilised.

I don't think the tackle was deliberate or a send off, but it was ugly and unnecessary. I'd like to think McLean spends a week out just to help him understand that lifting tackles aren't on.
