What a rubbish performance. Yes, the refs favoured souffs as they always do, but when you can't punish a side with 23/40 completion rate, you know you haven't turned up. Price's selections don't help, although it has to be admitted we just don't have the pack to challenge. Merrin is a monster, but he needs a couple of quality big boppers in 8 and 10 to help him out, and we just don't have any. Hunt is rubnish, Stockwell, Frizell, de Belin, Cooper are just not big enough. Any decent coach wpuld have de Belin in 13 and Merrin at prop, but Price knows better.

Swapping de Belin and Merrin around wouldn't make much difference as they both play middle.

Price has got to stop fiddling with combinations. I'm not sure if Quinlan played well but I was surprised he was so quick to drop Williams when he seems a more natural fit in the halves. If Quinlan is the man for the role, I hope Price gives him another week or so and banks on Dugan being better for this week's run.

The pack can definitely do with some tinkering but it's going to take some time to see what it's best configuration is. On form, only Creagh & Merrin pick themselves. Rein gets by due to a lack of a better option. If Garvey can get his shit together and if McCrae can continue developing in the NYC, they maybe able to offer assistance in that area.
