That awkward moment when you give your former assistant manager a bit of shit for wearing an England shirt and it turns out she has breast cancer... :(

i had too many last night.

my mouth tastes like a sweaty sneaker & feels like i've been chewing kitty litter..

Agree there was always a limit to how many you could have. Still, nothing better than watching a fire in the back yard with a glass of wine / muscat and drawing back on some good tobacco.

The word on the street is Steve Price is set to sign on as Assistant Coach with Cronulla shortly.

They were saying that, but I don't it will happen again. Run it's race, jumped the shark...whatever.

Its only off for 2015.

AJ sold his 50% share to a Texas based company who will get it back up and running the following year. They wouldn't have paid all that money just to shelve it.

He lost between $8mill and $12mill last year and I'm not surprised. You could still get tickets up until the event as it didn't sell out mainly because of his crappy line ups.

BDO lineups have been crap for years. I went to my first one 10 years ago and and back then you had to buy your ticket within about 10 minutes of them going on sale. Some dude even offered me $500 at the gate for my $80 ticket

I've got a friend who's in event management. He told me for this year's BDO they struggles to sign contracts with a lot of food vendors ect because so many of them didn't think they'd get their money it was doing so poorly.

BDO had it's day unfortunately.

I prefer how they organise the day compared to Soundwave, but Soundwave just started putting way too many good bands on the one show to be ignored. By about 2009, they'd taken over as the premier rock festival.

Still, I enjoyed a lot of my BDOs. From watching Tool, Muse (and don't laugh) my favourite band at the time, The Killers to 2013 when I was making mad dashes through the Chilli Peppers, to Animal Collective to Sleigh Bells, it was a sweet time out.

I think people get it all wrong when they say the show 'isn't how it used to be'. While it never topped those early 2000 shows, for mine, it's biggest problem is that it stuck too close to the same formula and never really evolved. As sad as it is to say, festival goers would much rather see an international act over a local one.
