Scheme is wrong word. Overreach is probably accurate. I watch a show on TV, or record it for private use - that's ok. I download a show from overseas FTA, to watch personally, that's not ok. Makes no sense

So it's not copyright you really have an issue with as much as the licensing system distributors and studios use to maximise profits?

I realise it comes other copyright, but to me signing a cheque for someone else to create something isn't creation and copyright is there to protect those who create.

You seem to be taking issue with the way the entertainment business operates around copyright rather than copyright itself.

Revolution is ok.

Watched the first two eps of that, but yet to go to my usual 5 before calling it quits - that in itself probably says something.

Watching this show called Helix. It's sort of like the Sharknado version of The Thing, but for some reason I keep watching. Budget special effects and stiff acting, but meh, there's something about a killer plague in the Arctic that makes me go "Ok, show me more furless monkeys".

Picks up around EP 7-8.

It's been cancelled so I wouldn't really bother KTF.

Revolution was a show with reasonable highs and some pretty shocking lows. I do concur with Dutchy that it picks up around episode 7/8 iirc, from reading reviews the reviewers hated it further from there but I felt that it started to deviate from cliches into something more interesting. Between seasons they fired the writing staff and brought in a new one and it was almost like a brand new show which I actually didn't mind as they ditched most of the elements that I didn't like.

Spoiler: Revolution

It actually became a pretty blatant anti-American government story in the second season which was interesting but ratings continued to drop, that was probably why. The whole nano turning into a psuedo-god in the second half was a bit stupid iirc.

The lead actress, whilst reasonably attractive is quite terrible and from watching Breaking Bad, Giancarlo Esposito is completely wasted.

I hated that show. The main chick, Charlie, was just a walking plot device. Just the catalyst for every f**k up they encountered.

When you're rooting for the villain over the heroes, you know the writing is terrible.

Just got an email to say I've been awarded a place in the on campus accommodation at Southern Cross Coffs Harbour.

I have to commit to it and pay my deposit within the week, yet uni offers aren't made until the 21st of this month and the 3rd of February in my case.

Seems an odd business model.

Oh, it would make sense if the Uni offer had come in too. They're wanting me to commit close to $1000 when I don't even know if SCU has accepted my application yet. What happens if, for some bizarre reason, I'm offered a place on the Gold Coast or in Sydney instead?

That's a big part of the allure. I didn't really do Uni right the first time - I was shy, I went with my two best friends from high school, and I was still in my f**king idiotic 'waiting for marriage' phase.

Plus, if Asia has been any indication, nobody actually thought I was as old as I am. I got late twenties while poor Hoggmaster got 'about 40?'.

That's what happens when you wear a suit and a trilby everywhere!
