So, it looks like my Thailand plans aren't going to work out. Guy who pitched me the job has become more and more vague about details the more firm in my interest I've become.

C'est la vie.

Just applied to do Uni. It would mean being stuck here for three more years, but the course I'm looking at does a six month exchange program (countries such as Japan, Netherlands, Austria, Canada, USA, China etc) + an internership program that I could do either here or with one of the travel contacts I've found through my site.

If I get accepted, I'll be in beautiful Coffs Harbour in 2015. Such a shame BM left :sarcasm:

Seems almost perfect for you in some ways. Its how we got to Tonga - well, my wife anyway. I went pro-bono just for the church.
