This round of anxiety is so frustrating, every few good days lead into a really bad one...two steps backwards after every two forward basically. Can't seem to shake it

Cheers guys. I'm really just venting my frustration, it's very draining stuff and it seems to be getting worse with age. And it's one of those things people just don't get, sadly. If I have to hear any more about the "power of positive thinking" or the healing effects of exercising/going out and enjoying myself when there are days I can't even get out of bed you might see me on the news....

Hang in there, Bazal. It gets better. Trust me, first time I was diagnosed with it, I thought every breath would be my last. But I said to myself that today is not my time and I have things to do and more places to experience and unless Miranda Kerr was not in bed with me, then I should get up.

Is there anything you can do for anxiety? Or those around you can do? Serious question.

There's medication. I'm on anti depressants and anti psychotics, which both help a lot. Also behavioural therapy like relaxation exercises and such, but they don't work well for me. Will stop a panic attack but won't curb the general anxiety at all.

It usually passes eventually, my worst specific trigger is new situations and routine changes, so work closing and then basically being in limbo has been awful for it. It's just really frustrating that it seems to be getting worse with age when it really should get better.

Feel for you Baz.

I never really had much of an idea about mental illness and how bad it can be but recently my wife has been battling depression and it's really opened my eyes to what a prick of a thing it is.

Anxiety is a dog of an issue and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Hope it starts to back off soon for you.
