at the neck ?

too much of that lightning quick pace bowling

Plenty of people who want to amputate me from the neck, you will need to grab a ticket and get in the queue.

Definitely the pace bowling though...

Left shoulder isn't in terribly good knick, probably bursitis. Have an ultrasound booked in for next Thursday, hoping it's nothing to do with the cartilage.

Feel for you Baz.

I never really had much of an idea about mental illness and how bad it can be but recently my wife has been battling depression and it's really opened my eyes to what a prick of a thing it is.

Anxiety is a dog of an issue and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Hope it starts to back off soon for you.

Thanks mate. I normally get through it all fine eventually, just makes for a shit few months until it settles down. Hope the wife doesn't go through it for too long, it's a horrible way to feel...

She was in a pretty bad place in November / December last year. Started seeing medical help in Jan and has been on the up since then. Thankfully she responded well to meds and we found her a good psych. A lot of her issues were triggered by her work situation and we've also managed to find her another job. Basically, she's not quite out of the woods yet, but she's on the fringe.

Her biggest worry now is finding another trigger but the psych is working with her to understand what they are and how to manage her emotions when they come up.

Hopefully, in time she may even be able to get off the meds... One day.

The whole situation has really opened my eyes though. Can't say I have a better understanding of what goes on in her head, but I've seen how totally debilitating it can be.

Morning, i cam across it for the first time with one of the other halves extended family. The thought of a social event that the everyone else was looking forward to would just cripple the poor guy with fear whenever he thought about it. Horrible way to live. Hope it comes good

It's easier once you understand what's happening, too. At first it's like a tonne of bricks and it really catches you off guard, but once you understand what it is it makes it a little less of a shock and a bit easier to manage. You can kind of sit back and go "wow, ok, I know what this is" and the psych can give you ways to deal with it, like the cognitive behavioural therapy stuff for anxiety that at least stops me from having a full blown panic attack for example. Small things that make it just a little easier, and a little easier can seem like a huge difference when things get bad.

Meanwhile, on a lighter note, I decided to put most of my remaining savings off the mortgage. 40k in extra payments after like 3 months. Now I just have to get the yard done so I've got somewhere to sit and drink beer in the sun
