Just got my latest quarterly electricity bill... WTF! Was expecting an increase, but not what I got... Used about 5% more power than the previous bill. Previous bill = $380, this bill = $880.

f**king rip off merchant power companies.

My power bill was $198. Went down $30 because I was overseas for a fair amount of the quarter. It also helps to turn off the power to every appliance (excluding the microwave, fridge and clock radio) and only turn it on when it's needed.

Getting the carpets steam cleaned in my house this morning. After that I can get a new housemate.

We had a falling out after she put a roast in the oven and left it running for an hour unsupervised while she toddled on over to her boyfriend's house. If I didn't get home, the house could have burned down. She moved out a few days just before I was due back from my overseas holiday. No great loss.

I recall a former housemate who tried very ahrd to stop the rest of us stealing his food like we continually stole each other's food. Didn't work. He ended up earning the rather interesting nickname of The Queen of the Carp (long story).
