I'm a tradie. Only other job I've had was working in a cinder block factory when I lived at Surfers for six months. Watching bricks go past on a conveyer belt for 8 hours a day is about as fun as it sounds. Oh and I sold weed in high school, used to make a fortune because I never smoked the stuff

I definitely prefer my current gig to any of my other gigs. Check-out work was mind-numbing, call center work in billing was soul-destroying, and tech support just exposed me to too many people.

Teaching in Korea was too much work for too little reward. My current gig is an awesome fit for me.

I teach in China. I work 18 hours a week on my current schedule, but it varies between 10-20 depending on the classes we have on campus.

There's obviously marking and planning time in there as well, but I'd be lucky to work more than 6 hours a day inclusive of that. I get eight weeks paid vacation a year, never work weekends or after 5.20pm (except study hall once a week), and get along with my boss and co-workers.

If I liked this city more (Nanjing is a bit old school Chinese for me), it'd be perfect.
