what exactly happened?

I think about 16 passed the initial 'qualifying height,' whereas the judges only wanted to take 12 to the final. Judges told them to keep going until 4 dropped out, jumpers said f**k ya.

Then we had a period of Karl failing to have a clue, a few cuts to the dressage, a lot of talking, and everyone went home. Eventually 14 qualified.
