If there's someone in an event from a country I've never heard of, I always go for that person, regardless of how many Aussies are in said event. This method has so far netted me zero medals

I'll go with someone because of their name, I really wanted Tyson Gay to win the 100 metre sprint. The guy has to spend a lot of time with "GAY" in massive letters on his chest, he deserves to get something for that.

Called me sheltered, but I had never heard of Djibouti. But I found myself cheering young Mumin Gala on in the 5000m

Ridiculous all round. I'd love to see the people who refused to jump miss out on medals now.
Well that would be all of them...
I just received a bizarre compliment from a guy I've met twice in real life and only speak to on facebook (we forged a facebook friendship via a mutual friend's wall, but she started pissing me off, and he could see that so he made an effort to friend me so he could still get some Hala time or some such nonsense)
what strange comments, particularly the last one - I don't know what would have made him think that or why he would have said it, I presume he meant those things as compliments but ... yeah. This guy occasionally suggests that he will be the guy I run off to Africa with and I have always laughed it off and considered any insistence as a joke... What does superthread make of this?
Aww he has a crush. How cute. And yeah in Guy Land that's an epic compliment.

f**king Melbourne. Leave home and it's hailing. Get half way to work and have to put sunglasses on.

USA beating the Boomers was as assured as James 'The Missile' Magnussen winning gold in the 100m Free.

Oh wait.....
