Conducting interviews with reluctant talent tomorrow. This never ends well. My Friday arve will consist of asking questions, getting no answers then coming home, realising I have nothing for my piece and starting from scratch.

My piece? It's supposed to be on a campus-based issue. I am trying to get something on the language programs the uni has to help International students but it's all feeling a bit meh right now. If one of these interviews tomorrow is lame I will probably start over again on the weekend.

This has been my relationship with the ATO for the last 3 years. 2009 -2010 return took 64 days from lodging to receive refund, 2010 -2011 return 63 days, 2011 -2012 lodged 1st Aug nothing as yet.

When i rang them the previous 2 years i always got told hey its sitting there approved all it needs is a tick to send the funds (that was 30 days in).
Then to make it even better they give you a pittance of interest but then charge you tax on thta interest next year lol.

Well gambling losses are taxed. Seeing as the only people who win are lucky and overall the house always wins the government just needs to get a piece of the losses. Not a piece of the winnings.

And just wait until the government figures out Poker is a game of skill. It'll be taxed quickly enough. A judge has recently made that ruling in the US, before long the IRS will make every poker player in Vegas fill out a form every time they leave a table.
