That's something that I don't even want to think about, though I'd say each player would be contracted to ONE of the NRL clubs, and could only play for them in NRL.

doesnt that disadvantage both clubs in terms of depth, this year we have already used what 30 players? I really hope this doesnt happen and is merely rumour and speculation

The man supposedly in charge is capable of ANYTHING. Nothing would surprise, that's why we need "numbers", so we've got a viable voice against this sh!t.

deadset, you could have a player play for the dragons one week, get dropped back for the next game..cronulla get an injury and he could be called up for the sharks.....

what a joke!

That possibility really does scare me, although I would hope that, as Preach said, one contract for one club.

The problem I have is you could have a 6 and 7 playing in the PL side, then you have an injury in the Saints camp and an injury in the Sharks camp, then you could have that same 6 and 7 playing AGAINST each other.

Or worse still, if you have both clubs number 7 get injured, who gets to bring the PL number 7 into their starting side?

The entire situation would turn into a f**king joke. It can't happen and never should have been considered.

thats what i was trying to get across in my post, especially given that we have already used up 30 players in FG this year. Add to that the rivalry between the two clubs, deadset there is no way Doust could even contemplate such a move. This wont happen and if it does there will be some major fan backlash i would think

There's two other ways to spell that;

1. Sh!tfight

2. Vote of no Confidence.

Pat,

Re St George Club membership.

Football Club
Footy club membership requires an application form and you need two signatures from current members to nominate you. The form is then handed in or posted for the board's approval. In most cases, they just rubber stamp it. After approval, its $11 per year.

Contact the club and ask them to send out a form. I'm sure you get a couple of current members to sign through the forums here.

Leagues Club
St George Leagues Club membership RENEWAL can be done online.
If you are looking to start up a new membership, the website says you have to go to the club at Kogarah. I think they need to take a pic for the card.

BUT... I'm interstate nowadays I don't have a pic on my card (perhaps because I just keep renewing online).

the link is here: http://www.stgeorge.org.au/membership.asp

Again, if you are intersate, I suggest you contact the club and ask them if you need to visit the club.

Just remember that Red V membership carries no voting rights whatsoever.

A Voice, no free this or that, it's purely about being able to question those in control when you're not happy with the goings on in the club.
It may sound like nothing, but it's the only way it can be made officially with a chance of following it up.

willow, what do you get from being a football club member?
Everything that Preacher said plus the annual Football Club Journal which is worth a read.

Apart from that, there's no bells and whistles. No free baseball caps. But you get the right to vote and have a say in the club's direction.

Without such a process, we would have probably merged with Easts in 1995. The SOS people and the subsequent member's support put a stop to such a move.

Preacher, Rexxy, Father and/or R2K, what's the current situation with the heirarchy of "the board"? I recall Cheesie was asking questions about this last year.
