The real issue is consistency. Did Thaiday put Newton into a dangerous position and the answer is yes. Did it warrant the same degree of penalty as Buderus and the answer is no.
As Buderus was a grade 3, Thaiday in my opinion should have been a grade 1.
The knights fans are not saying that it was as bad as Buderus, but he did put Newton into a dangerous position and as such should have been charged with a dangerous throw but no more than a grade 1. This is the consistency that should have been given.
With the points system, Thaiday would probably have been available anyway to play anyway.
The judiciary has a long history of inconsistencies with Morley and that 7 weeks he received an obvious example. This incident just continues the inconsistency.
