Suspensions should be replaced by fines

Honestly if there was no risk of suspension and I was an nrl coach I'd tell my players to line up the oppositions best player in the first minute and take them out. Have the club reimburse the player cash in hand under the table.

You could get some nuffie to do that now. Some bloke who would never make first grade, throw him out there, belt an opponent, get 12 weeks, who cares? Or, as I said earlier, get some bloke who is about to retire to do it. Even less of a problem. Either way you risk a send off and losing with 12 men anyway.

Does it happen? Of course not. Having fines instead of suspensions is no going to make it an issue. In any case, under my plan, in that instance it would probably be $10k and 8 weeks instead of 12 weeks so it's hardly a get out of jail card.

The NFL suspended someone for a whole season for smoking weed.

In soccer players are automatically suspended any time they get red carded (whether it's a straight red or 2 yellows).

But no you're right, only rugby league suspends players

Where did I say only RL suspends players?

FMD.
