I think a lot of that starts with the commentary team. They're rooting for the most interesting narrative regardless of what's correct and a lot of fans will just follow suit.

Yeah, I said that in another thread, they want controversy and they promote it instead of educating the public on the game, they are a biased commentary team for a start which makes that duty almost impossible.

If Lui does the same thing when they are down by 30 then the refs let it go, but if it's to win the game then it needs 40 replays from angles that show shit all only to go back to the original call

The SBW penalty was incorrect

The skw no Shepard was terrible

The Lui knock on was an each way call but they just don't ever go the cowboys way - my issue is more that a touchy 20 meters behind the play made the call as ref wasn't sighted if he had called a try the video wouldn't have overuled

Also (and this is a genuine question) where is the line between forward pass and knock on ? Given Lui was pushing it on does that mean its a pass and forward or not the video shouldn't have ruled ?

Cowboys threw at least 40 forward passes in the 1st half that weren't called, they were lucky to even be in with a chance near the end.

Knock on everyday, some of you would like to ignore the knock on by Melbourne last week as well just so you get the big moment.

Cowboys were all set to cry conspiracy regardless of the result and they did the same thing the last two years because they are sore losers.

From the moment that ball got to Bromwich's hand it never went anywhere but backward, was knocked out by the dogs player and project back to Bromwich chest. There was no evidence at all that could lead to it being overturned but it was.

The call tonite was all up to the on field ref, it would not have been overturned if it were called a try, the result was very much in the spirit of the changes to video ref system (refs call first, no more benifit of the doubt) with the on field ref being the decider when there is too much doubt from the video.

But they didn't let it go, they called it knock on on the spot only to go to the video to cover their arses.

FMD Qlders whinge a lot

It was a tough game and they lost. You the opposition a 30 point lead in a semi, you dont deserve to win. The ref being right or wrong on a couple of 50/50 calls is pretty inconsequential after that

Clearly a knock-on.

I also disagree with that saying it shouldn't been a penalty to SBW. Feldt had his hand on the ball.

He certainly wasn't complaining when it was given.

About the SBW penalty, I thought Linnett's left hand knocked the ball and Linnett himself didn't blow up about the call, stood up looking guilty as f**k and pretending he didn't see the ball on the ground.

The call on Lui is a red herring. It was a knock-on.

The REAL injustice done to the Cowboys was Money-Bill's knock-on being missed by the ref.

Lol I think the plodder call of the day has to be ignoring the blatant shepherd/obstruction. Jesus that was bad, the refs are f**king pissweak. They all saw it but didn't have the balls to call it.

I thought the same lol.

As for the so called 'knock on', I think we'd all need a closer look at it to be the judge. It really could have gone either way. :sarcasm:

Channel 9 are f**king pricks, both tonight and last weeks game in Melbourne would not have received anywhere near the same controversy had it been commentated by fox.

I was cheering for the Cowboys as much as the next bloke, but it was clearly forward off Lui anyone who said it wasn't is either biased or a complete imbecile (Wally Lewis gets a tick in both counts).

Cowboys second try came off the back of a massive forward pass and then also SBW dropped the ball cold before the field goal so if anything there was a 5 point bonus to the Cows.

You watch the media blow this up for all its worth saying how the Cows have been screwed three years in a row. They have nothing to be upset about apart from the fact that for the first 30 minutes they played like the under 11's Berala Bears

Mmm. We saw a grand total of one replay in which vision of Linnett's hand was obstructed by SBW's hand and the ball.

I'm not saying that it was definitely a penalty, but there's way too much doubt for me to blow up over it.
