Anyone know much about him? He seems Ok to me, but his match with hardy was too quick to properly gauge how good/bad he is.

Terkay is class. He's an excellent mat wrestler. Pairing him with Elijah Burke is a good move imo.

There's probably 47,000 excellent amatuer mat wrestlers in the US though. There's probably a lot of blokes who can beat someone up with more velocity than Bobby Lashley out there too.

Unless they know how to keep a fan entertained by constructing a believable story, it doesn't really get you far. It's like comparing Mark Henry to Ric Flair, one is enormously strong, one is technically capable but not superb, but I know even nearing the age of 60 who I'd shell out to go and see and it's not Mark Henry. Turkey didn't show me any ring psychology, and no real chemistry with Hardy either for that matter.

Why? It's professional wrestling, judgements are made everyday.

My personal view is that particular match was poor.

My personal perspective on a good match is for a good story to be told. I've said it before, I'll say it again, the likes of Jake Roberts, Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, Raven, Roddy Piper, Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, who's wrestling basics are sound, know how to show a good match, and tell a good story all in the squared circle... even before they touch the microphone, are my preferred style of wrestlers. If I want to watch that, I'll switch over to UFC. I hope for his sake that was a classic "Squash" debut where his job was only to get in there, manhandle his opponent and get some recognition for that and that he can work a match that is believable. That match for pro wrestling standards was sloppy, there was a lot of moments of sheer confusion, it almost appeared as if they were told to go out there, call it in the ring and then neither man spoke to one another...

That's my own gut feel. I haven't written him off yet, I just didn't like it.

Good point but does anyone debut these days without having a 2 min squash match against the likes of funaki simon dean etc and then continue having 2 min squashes until they figure out something futher to do with the character

Foxtel cancelled my FOX 8 a few weeks ago, in trying to force me to switch to digital. :fist:

But from what I saw, both Terkay and Burke were very talented individuals who could have gotten good pushes and made them work. Shame.

He did alot of work in zero one and in shoot fighting for K-1.

He is decent but theres only so much you can do in squash matches

Terkay seems too 'wound up' to be a wrestler....by this I mean that his demeanour doesn't convey any emotion bar anger or something close....you have to be able to change now and then......he's another 'wrestler' who will have his time in the sun and then get lost in the shuffle due to lack of microphone skills and that all important "charisma"....btw, Sylvester you don't get over simply by using Samoa Joe's finisher....

Elijah Burke is the most annoying wrestler on television today.....good wrestler but his personality (character scripted or not) is painful to watch.....its not even the cocky heel thing, its a cocky individual thing.....goes hand in hand with his look which I also don't like....

Burke has the bigger future of the two.

Turkay wasn't using Joe's finisher, he's used the Muscle Buster, or the modified Muscle buster or whatever it was, for ages.
