Why? It's professional wrestling, judgements are made everyday.
My personal view is that particular match was poor.
My personal perspective on a good match is for a good story to be told. I've said it before, I'll say it again, the likes of Jake Roberts, Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, Raven, Roddy Piper, Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, who's wrestling basics are sound, know how to show a good match, and tell a good story all in the squared circle... even before they touch the microphone, are my preferred style of wrestlers. If I want to watch that, I'll switch over to UFC. I hope for his sake that was a classic "Squash" debut where his job was only to get in there, manhandle his opponent and get some recognition for that and that he can work a match that is believable. That match for pro wrestling standards was sloppy, there was a lot of moments of sheer confusion, it almost appeared as if they were told to go out there, call it in the ring and then neither man spoke to one another...
That's my own gut feel. I haven't written him off yet, I just didn't like it.
