Which bands?

I dont know if you are from Brisbane or not, but I like a few local metal bands. Shades of Dust in particular lately, although they arent really that heavy in comparison to some metal bands.

When I really want to throw my head around Ill throw on a bit of Cannibal Corpse or Jesse McCartney.

It's off topic a little but for your information Drowning Pool are in the process of mixing thier 3rd album with thier 3rd singer. Ryan McCombs, who was in Soil, is the latest lead singer and thier CD should be out early next year.

Really? That is new to me!

Interesting...

For the person who said Mezmerize is lacking that 'anthem', surely you've heard B.Y.O.B.?

I think that song is their best work. It really is a great song which typifies the style that System of created. I can understand people not really liking Mezmerize, as towards the end of the disc the tracks start getting a little more melodic and are far from brutal, but I actually appreciate that sort of music as a change from the more extreme metal bands I usually listen to.

Just my opinion though, oh and Hypnotize is very similar to Mezmerize, so if you didnt like the first, you probably wont like the second.

That was me! lol

Yeah I like "BYOB", but it's not anthem-like to the same degree as "Smells Like Teen Spirit", "Chop Suey", etc.

"Mesmerize" wasn't half bad. I liked it.

But I prefer other stuff - like Ill Nino's "One Nation Underground".

And yeah I actually like System's melodic stuff. I like to mix things up.

My favourite type of music is metal, but I love other stuff - one of my all-time fave bands have to be the Goo Goo Dolls, Seal had a few brilliant songs and Wacko Jacko has a few pearlers. Throw in Fuel, Bush and Live, and my music library is varied lol.

I still prefer toxicity and their self titled but mesmerize/hypnotize is still very good, however it's just more of the same if you ask me.
