TAC - Poor effort!

Well, well, well.

It seems that, as far as the TAC is concerned, its morals and ethics only go so far.

A Richmond player earns the 'bloody idiot' tag and they immediately axe sponsorship of the Tigers;

a Collingwood player follows suit and its steady as she goes.

Extraordinarily hypocritical, and as a taxpayer I'm less than impressed at such a double standard.

Richmond over a 5 year period, had an exceptional number of players arrested for commiting attrocities whilst pissed, the TAC prior to Jay's stupidity had warned the club one more and that was it given the club wore the slogan 'drink drive bloody idiot' on the jersey.

Collingwood as far as I am aware have had 1 speeding fine and 1 drink driver, they have not had the history of booze related misbheaving that Richmond had.

Richmond deserved to lose the sponsorship, as far as I can tell, Collingwood have done everything they can, including picking a fight with the players union in order to punish the player.

Two completely different situations.

I have more of a problem with the fact that my tax dollars are going into supporting a club I despise. Collingwood have by far the largest turnover of any club in the comp or Australia for that matter, so why should we contribute anymore to them.
The "wipe off five" message is getting lost somewhere between "Lexus" and "Emirates", when only a few years ago the doggies were struggling to find a major sposor. With it being in Victorias political interest for every club in this state to be viable, wouldn't that money be better spent in helping a stuggling Vic club.

Is the idea of the sponsorship to prop up a club or get exposure though?

My feeling is the latter, and in those terms, Collingwood at present as sad as it is to say, are the best vehicle for that in Victoria.

Unfair enough.

I'm happy with the Meltiger justification.

And even happier that I've managed to get him fully supporting Collingwood over an issue...

My work here is done!

'Clash' Jumpers ...........................

Dear God, I'm taking the scenic route all the way around this one!

The relentless grind of the Chris Judd debate has been ageing me beyond my years, this one would break the proverbial camel's back.

KB on wasn't happy on SEN this morning. I seem to agree with him.

Mel, did those.. "exceptional number of players arrested for commiting attrocities whilst pissed" drink or drive or speed etc..? Not to my knowledge. It is double standards and any other club other than Collingwood would probably lost their sponsorhip.

Not that im upset one little bit. We got about $300,000 (i think?) more out of AFG without having to worry about conditions of the deal.

... Whats the odds before the years out a pies player will be caught speeding or something.. my odds would be $1.50

Bartlett is a lollipoper. Whilst he refuses to come to club functions he should keep his f**king mouth shut.

& I cannot say that in any stronger way. The fool should keep his nose out of club business.

The TAC made it abundantly clear when Ottens/Campbell/Daffy et al got arrested that they didn't want to be involved at a club that had such a bad culture of drinking and misbehaving.

But in terms of direct relation to the sponsorship? Yes, when Royce Vardy got pinged they told the club if it happened again we'd lose the deal, when Jay got caught they cut the deal.

Rubbish.

Richmond seriously need to get over it.

He is a radio commentator, he has a job to open his mouth and have an opinion. KB did a lot of good for Richmond, something i think many supporters overlook.

I dont like the way he has treated the club either.. but he still is richmond through and through.

Did Otto, Campbell or Daffy do anything that goes against their message? I heard them the other day saying they didn't mind if people drunk..just that they didn't drive. So what did the above players do wrong by them?

Well they should have done that after Cloke got done for doing 140 k/ph if they were serious about traffic safety.

I think they are over it, like i said we are thousands of $$ more well off because of them being hypocrites.. so good for them.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.

We were told in Brisbane not to go anywhere near a camera with the TAC logo on us. This included going out to put up the run through.

NEVER have I seen that attitude to a former sponsor before.

& how much bad press does it generate for the club when the f**ker won't attend a club function that's honoring him?

He has no business butting into anything Richmond.

#a - They told the club the drunken shenanigans needed to stop ...

After Royce's arrest, we were warned, we then broke the rules again.

As far as I am aware, Collingwood have been told they will lose the $ if it happens again. Exactly the same as with Richmond.

Why did collingwood get one more stuff up before they were warned?

Fair enough on KB but i think he can do what he wants.

Richmond are happy to be with AFG, lets hope they do move on.

Bartlett is still a lollipoper. Regardless of what he did as a player.

Why did they get a second chance? Because they don't have a recent history of getting arrested when drunk.
