It wasn't an opinion it's a fact. Can't you get your head around that. All the experts were praising his efforts during that time & I couldn;t agree more with them. You must have been asleep for whole 09 final series. By the way Parra made the 09 GF but were unfortunately beaten if you only just woke up.

If you weren't asleep you'll tell me Burt was better won't you????
I support both players. I remember Guru plucking that Soward pass out of the air and burying the Dragons, I remember Burt chasing through a kick to the Panthers in-goal and ripping the ball out of Sammut's hands to score an amazing try, I remember Guru turning in defence (something he struggles to do sometimes) picking up a grubber, turning again and racing down field before giving the ball to Hayne to set up Robson against the Storm, I remember Burty calmly potting a long range field goal to really stick it up the Dragons.

You are right that there are better wingers than Burt, there are better wingers than Grothe but as long as they play for Parra, I don't give a rats

hayne could kick i remember taylor saying he was a great kicker but struggled in games i think he has matured since then. murry morts orford (if he sign's?) so burt would have to earn his spot.

Burt kicks at 80% over the last 4-5 years and is one of the best kickers in the league (most consistant over the last 5 years along with Hazam and Thurston id say). Even if burt wasnt a goal kicker he would be my first choice winger at this club ahead of Grothe, Reddy, Atkins or Walker (assuming T is in the centres). Compared to Grothe he may be smaller but his defence is much better in that he reads defence, he has better hands and his kick returns are generally pretty good. Not just that Burt is a smart player in attack, he kicks ahead and passes with better accuracy then any winger in the comp id say, remember he did play for country this year. Grothe is past his best IMO, he runs at players rather then looking for gaps and has a brain explosion every second match.

In terms of back up kickers we have Humble, Murray, Sio, Walker and Hayne. Humble is an extreamly talented kicker from what i have seen and Murray kicked around 77% if i remember correctly (read somewhere but may have been 72ish aswell).

If Murray or Humble are in the halves I assume they would backup burt with Hayne only doing it if required.

burt's kick returns are a liability, of the 30 regular starting wingers in each club, burt's yardage was last place
