Has anyone read this article....is Furner fair dinkum...
Melbourne Storm has been accused by the Canberra Raiders of targeting its players' chins in the weekend's round one clash.
The Raiders have reportedly asked the NRL to review footage where Storm players appear to be pushing Raiders players' chins sidewards during a tackle.
Canberra coach David Furner is thought to have identified six instances where Storm defenders made questionable tackles.
The practice is known as "chin-strapping" and makes it painful for an opposing player to keep moving forward.
''My concern is the players and it's got to do with the head and the chin,'' Furner told the Canberra Times.
''They're pulling the chin across with their hands. I could see they were slowing us down by using this technique.''
So in a game where Melbourne defended 42 sets and made 382 tackles, he identified six where the technique was used and these six tackles slowed the Raiders down, I mean, he could see it right.... Now, I am not sure about this but really, if they have only executed a tackle they have practiced over and over in the off season six times in a game, then that is an outrage and needs investigation....or is it reasonable to think that in any game of rugby league you might see this kind of contact six times a game.
It is obvious there are alot of people on this post who are purely having a laugh.
