there is 5 other people on the board who have the business smart to run the NRL, I'm all for having someone there who is passionate about our game, has played at every level and knows how decisions will effect the players and teams. There needed to be a player on the board. News Ltd had the balls to put one there.

But like I said you'd have no problem with this if Tallis remained a Dragon.

So he doesnt have an MBA, sometimes those with MBAs have NFI about league and how to make decisions.

Players have plenty of places to air their thoughts and voice and if required the board can bring them in as consultants.

The board is in place to run a business, it makes perfect sense to appoint people with business skills and acumen.

He is an ex player, that's all he is and in no way qualifies him to sit on a board.

First of all, I was reffering to education qualifications, thats the side of it people seem to have a problem with.

Secondly, I don't care what player they chose, as long as there was a player that was passionate about our game, showed he wasn't an idiot, and had played/lead at all levels.

and finally the NRL is not a bank, there is no comparison.

League makes decisions that benefit and sometimes hinder the players. Tallis is a person that will know if such a decision will be good or bad.

once again, the players have plenty of places to voice their opinion. Boards bring in experts or consultants to advise all the time.

Not one of you has psosed a valid argument for his inclusion on the board yet.

You dismiss the example of the teller on a bank board or the claism proceccesor on an insurance company board but it is exactly the same thing.

The NRL IS run as a business, if you think differently you either deluded or very very naive.

How about, he can leave when you actually get a say in the matter

And you and I are the customers in terms of League, as someone mentioned, Tallis has spent over 10 years in the business, gives him a hell of alot of credibility.
