Tanking in the NRL

That’s because the Roosters are not shit. They just played like they are which raises eyebrows.

But are they really not shit , or this side this year are just flat track bullies
Lost to riff
Lost to storm x 2
Just beat eels in last 15 after eels had lead and were celebrating
Raiders lost one , won one
Smashed by souths

At end of the day the only top 4 team they beat was eels and they did it after eels choked in last 15 . And they haven’t done much better against team 5 and 6

But yeh keep saying they tanked to play another team , because IF they did that shows that they are the biggest cats and won’t do nothing in semis if scared to play the storm in qld

There's definately an argument to be had that Roosters would rather a sydney final against the panthers than Melbourne and our record at Suncorp

on the flip side they only needed to loose by 2 - not 50

We dominated that game against eels. Yes they hit the lead in the 2nd half but that was against the run of play.

You also missed where we beat souths.

The first loss to Melbourne we were the better team and had the ref called the knock on at dummy half on the play the storm tied it we win that game.

The 2nd storm game we had 9 starters out.

There is also logic that you would rather play storm in brissie week 1 as opposed to week 3...

Anyways, we didn't tank and the first 10 minutes proves that. Had we scored that 2nd try which was pulled up for being forward we probably win the game.

Once things got hard and Jake went down I have no doubt they were not interested in putting in and just wanted to get through to next week which is the reason they had 60 put on them.

I don't think a team would go out and tank but individuals have certainly shown they've checked out throughout the season.. Some examples are more obvious than others.

An example of tanking in 2020 is Darius Boyd.

Matt Moylan looks like he's tanking but he's actually trash.

Souths were on fire , and roosters couldn’t handle it , they got smashed fair and square it’s a long season and hard for teams to be up every game .
If they wanted to tank they would have rested their team , also they played Souths so they would never tank against them .
Frankly I think it’s a insult to every side , that all other sides get smashed they are shit , roosters get smashed you all say they tanked

You honestly think the Roosters were caring about that game...

Unless you fancy yourselves on being more likely to beating Penrith in Sydney than Melbourne in Brisbane, and then hosting a home final in week 3.

As good as Penrith are playing, they haven't really been tested against a team the likes of you guys or Melbourne since round 6 against Melbourne.

And Parramatta absolutely tanked against the Dragons in the last reg season game in 2009.

I think it was a 76 point turnaround, the next week. On the same ground!!

Jarryd Hayne clinic. Our blokes couldn’t get near him. I think he stepped around Hornby at least twice in the same try in what might’ve been a hatrick day.

Anyway. Yes. It happens.

As a Parra fan, I thought we lost the first game fair and square but them realised we tanked after the second game. I don't know how though. It was Daniel Anderson magic, a team with Jeff Robson at halfback needs a few dirty tricks.

Yep and Hindmarsh was rested because he had a big toe injury.

Another game that comes to mind is rooster vs cowboys in 2014 when plenty of bets were placed on the roosters to get the wooden spoon after leading 16-0 at HT. Then lost 32-16.

You mean 2009? If you look back on that year, you’ll see the Roosters surrendered many halftime leads. They were shit.
