Sorry, don't agree with your ratings. Sims (if he stays) and JDB (like him or not) would be picked ahead of Alvaro, Kerr, Maguire and Faamasili. I do still hope that Faamasili improves markedly after doing his second full preseason.

Not ratings OED, just divided into props who are props and those who can play or transition to play prop ie Sims and JDB and our junior group.

There are those in the main group that should never see 1st grade imo

Sims and De Belin are our two best back-row forwards. Let's see how they go before we replace them or move them to the front-row.

Ah the cadets eh. I used to get really annoyed seeing school boys on the train in Army uniform wearing Sergeant and Warrant Officer rank! Lol.
I was a Soldier mate, a Corporal whilst at Vic Bks for about 3years. I worked ground floor (doorway C) before moving out to Holsworthy as a Sergeant. (Townsville and Puckapunyal before that).

I was in the cadet band at my school.
Played bugle/trumpet.

Imo, our props are divided into 3 divisions:

Main group - Woods, Lawrie, Alvaro, Molo, Burgess, Kerr, Maguire & Faamasili

Secondary group - Sims & JDB

Junior group - J Hunt & Coric

Thats 12 possible candidates for 4 positions (2 starters & 2 bench)

Mobility, strength, endurance and an ability to off-load, seem to be the pre-requisites in our modern game. Hulking props are only an asset if the show and can produce the requirements mentioned above.

I sincerely hope that if there is any spark of truth in the Eels scouting him then it fails . I realize that he is still contracted to the Dragons , however too many clubs attempt to lure players away one season early .

Quite simply Simms does have one good season left in him and with our forward stocks being better in 2022 than this year , then there is no reason why the man could not hit the heights once again .

I think realistically Sims should get first shot at an edge position, given he is an incumbent Origin player. If he performs, all good. If not, I hope Hook is willing to move him to the bench or drop him altogether. We'll have more depth next season, no need to carry anyone who isn't up to scratch.

Must be a quiet news day
Kerr , Bird and now SIMMS
Kerr and Simms have delivered little at Club level in recent seasons
Both are on extra good coin but are getting twitchy.
Wont weaken us one bit if both are shown the door now
Are well stocked for 2022
Bird had an amazing year with us playing most games
Is a pure footballer , doesnt have to be pigeon holed , give him a licence to roam , then you will see him at his best
Perhaps 14 maybe his best option , coming on at 20 mins and playing eyes up footy
Wouldnt be paying anymore than 500 k however
is a keeper

Agree Walpole , I truly believe that the man will lift his game this season . The competition for spots in the pack will ensure that each forward puts in his best effort , essentially they will spur one another on to greater heights .

Having a bench with players such as Simms and Lawrie waiting to go on will certainly keep the momentum going .
