Learnt plenty from Robbo and has bought solid game plans and belief in systems that work for NRL teams but not in touch with his players.. Man management is Taylors down fall..

I think you can add tactics, game plans, media savvy, class and ability to get the most out of his players to the list of JT's negative attributes.

I think he has the ability to pick close to the right team but he appears to be lacking a lot of skills when it comes to coaching rugby league.

Fix JT.s man management and he will be a good coach.

If Toovey gets the big A from Manly this week I'd be tempted to make him an offer and punt Taylor. Toovey would be discounted somewhat as Manly would still be picking up some $$$ till end of 2016. I know we would be doing the same with Taylor as with Sheens but if we have to 'lance the boil' better now than later especially if there is an attractive alternate in the wings.

Reckon WT made a bad choice in Taylor over Nathan Brown. Does anyone here have the gossip on why Taylor over Brown? If its money, lets just give up.

I don't think it would've been money. It's been no secret that Brown wanted to come back from England and coach NRL so I can't imagine he would've been demanding more coin than the other candidates.
I'm thinking Taylor just talked a better talk and the powers that be got excited at the thought of him bringing the Roosters success to the Tigers

Hopefully one of your players punches him and solves the problem for you's. Dead set was one of souths worse coaches despite leading us to our first finals in 20 odd years

I'd be all for Toovey or Brown to be our coach.

Sadly the club prefers also rans

Our next coach will probably be one of Rick Stone, Steve Price or Ivan Henjak

Brown said that he would start with a clean slate, including taking the captaincy off Farah. He would then watch over the pre season and decide who would be captain, it could still be Farah.

He said that this didn't seem to go down well. I'm sure there were other reasons but he pin pointed this as why he thinks he didn't get the job.

Taylor =Old Wests boy ;) ticked the boxes for new controling side of the joint venture.
I thought he may have been ok , his knowledge of the game was 2nd to none was his claim to fame . Maybe he has a great knowledge of game , but obviously he has f**k all knowledge of coaching :(

This is pretty funny. For someone who was meant to be so good he has been so bad.

I'm hopeful that he somehow gets his act together and starts realising that he needs to win games if he wants to keep coaching at a first grade level. Otherwise I can see another coaching pay out on the cards.

They all fail for the same reason, crappy roster with no money to fix it. Nothing is going to change till we fix the roster

Brown would have been a wise choice, however I thought Taylor would do OK and get more out of his players.

I am just hoping it is the coach and not the players. We seem to get some reasonable coaches that struggle to get the best out of the players they have under their control. I don't know if it is poor performance from the coaches or the players attitudes....I just don't know.

I heard Taylor on the WT site and he can talk the talk and truth is, everything he said, in theory, I agree with. It must be his methods with the players that is causing the problem (and poor game plans too) but gee our attack has gone off the boil big time.

Yeah, our defence has reduced the amount of tries being scored against us, big deal...the trouble is we are not scoring any ourselves, I can see the problem, can he!!!!

It would appear Taylor had written this year off from the get go.

Which is a pathetic argument for someone trying to cement themselves as a permanent head coach in the NRL.

Taylor had average results at Souths with an average team,it wasn't until he was sacked and Rusty started buying decent players that they came good under Madge.
Which seems to be the case with most teams that come good, spend money on a decent coach and players and better results follow.

That my worry

Particuarly when it's been stated we can't be active in the player market for next year. Don't really know how he expects us to improve.

I cant remember the last time the WT were active in the player market other than signing those two dead beats Blair and Anasta.

Re Reduced tries against us this yr have a look at how many sides we've played who've been depleted by injury & suspension. We are an absolute laughing stock & Taylor is embarrassing.Fancy the coach winging about playing the dogs twice in a month when we were playing them without there 5 best players.I was astounded that this dummy had the gall to make that statement. Then u had that congratulatory hug in sheds by the ignorant chairwoman after we won that game just goes to show how f**king complacent everyone @ this joint is .

Hard for him to do too much with the current roster. I'm willing to see how the year pans out before I start calling for his head.

Yeah, the attacking game plan has been shithouse, but the defence has been better than the garbage served up at the end of last year (despite some very poor 20min periods).
