Taylor has lost his job

That would have to be the death knell on his coaching career? Surely?

Although Nathan Brown and Steve Kearney seem to have got jobs after being seen as failures previously.

To be fair, Brown had set up a good squad and good systems at the Dragons. He went into it too young for mine, too close to the playing group there, just couldn't motivate them when it mattered.

Kearney I can't really make excuses for, he's had all the right mentors.

JT has now failed 2 or 3 times over long periods. Has to be dusted unless he can pick up work in England and win some trophies. That would help rebuild cred.

I'm happy with the change of coach but I don't blame everything solely on Jason Taylor.

I don't give a shit whether woods and the rest think they deserve better or whatever they have to earn it first. You don't not try because you don't like the coach and Jason Taylor is probably a hard coach that doesn't take bullshit from players and I think some players think they are bigger then the club or jersey or money they make. No excuse not to go hard in tackles or tuck the ball under the arm and run hard if nothings on instead of flick passing and going for all or nothing plays.

Yes get rid of Jason Taylor. But if Ivan Cleary or Todd payten can't fix this mob then punt some more players who think they should earn more money then the standard of football they think they are playing at.

Tell you what makes guys like Cronk and Thurston greats. It's not the skills at all its the ability to be there when it matters. The ability to know to just simply catch and pass the ability to kick to corners and be the first one there. They actually just do simple things better more then the rest. Have you ever seen Thurston or Cronk do anything Benji Marshall does. NO. Not knocking benji cos he has skills others don't have but doesn't have the smarts like Cronk thurston Smith just to go for percentage plays and tackle hard for the team.

That's why Melbourne has a big 13 cos those big 4 know that the rest of team is as important they are to the team.

The 04-05 Dragons were horrendously complacent and rather lazy. They knew full well they could blow any side off the park when they wound up, but it frequently took half a game to get going. The 2004 semi when they gave away a 24 point start in even time to a depleted side before losing by a field goal and being eliminated from 5th should have taught them some hard lessons, but they were at it again in '05.

has anyone ever been sacked 3 games into a season? Seems awfully early (Matt Elliott would have to go close too)
