Not knocking you Knight but I actually think the opposite. This rubbish about Balmain got dragged into this thread and the discussion because of Benny's musings on who should be brought it to fix things but Balmain now has no voting rights. The extension is that by most peoples here and the medias reckoning, this is all the fault of our "disfunctional" board. Our board was recently completely revamped to replace the previous (totally disfunctional board was disfunctional due to the two factions. The current board is majority independent. For mine this current board hasnt really made any errors and has had to make some tough decisions for the betterment of the club. This mob mentallity to lynch "the board" isnt based on any reality. Everyone is calling for a "clean out" all the while the board is doing exactly that.

It is led by Rothfield because he doesnt like Marina Go. His smoking gun evidence that she is no good is that she didnt know who Laurie Daley was. Marina Go is the Tigers Chairperson of the board, not Football Director.

The board has gotten rid of some trouble in the ranks and has now got rid of a poor coach that was taking us nowhere but down. Their hand was forced.
but it is essentially a western suburbs board isn't it? 5 of them, less of balmain and a few independents including the chairperson. it's still faction-ed in some respect. that's what folks are referring to. it's not pulling in the same direction because there are club and self-interests.

Balmain Leagues Club is an extremely sad and lonely vision. Its disgraceful what happened. But were Balmain in debt $20M in 2008 you lying merkin?

Answer that simple question correctly and you get the final word.

i remember watching Rodney Rude there

You are right, but my point is I havent seen any evidence that this board isnt doing a good job. I am from the old Balmain side of the tracks but Balmain having an equal say isnt the answer. Ultimately I would like th eboard to be majority independent but he who pays the bills calls the shots. Its a fact.

I cant speak on the board troubles because I just haven't paid enough attention but in regards to the bold, This was Taylors 3rd season in charge, at the end of season 2, they were backing him, he was their man. Now 3 games into season 3 they recognise he is taking them nowhere but down as you say, well f**k me it would been nice for the tigers if they had of recognised that a couple months ago, they've just written off the preseason and first 3 rounds because some players threw a tantrum. Like you said the other day, Benji got rid of Sheenius, Farah got rid of Potter, now some other players have got rid of Taylor, nothing has changed, the inmates are still running the show no matter what has happened at board level.

Legit cbf watching it but I take your word for it

I talked to one of "the big four" at a fan day in the pre season, they legit laugh at the fact they are titled that

Moses also laughed when he was asked pre-game how they were going to stop the Raiders from putting 40-60 points on them. He knew they were no chance. He'd already given up before he stepped on the field and had to face Blake Austin.

We were our own enemy in that game. We keep that same intensity we did in that first 30 we win easy imo

And it helps having the luxury playing behind a dominant pack

Its fair to say you guys did outplay us for the first 25-30 minutes but because there is such a size difference between the two sides its difficult for the tigers to maintain intensity when they are tacking such physically larger players.

Obviously we could tire out too like we did against the sharks but the sharks actually can match us up front too. Thry are a terrible match for us especially early in the season. Against the tigers us tiring out isnt a huge deal because joey and rapana can just take hit ups and make metres down the centre of the field.

100%, I said before the game the only way I thought we could beat you guys is if we have high completion and solid amount of possession. It worked for a good 30 mins and thought we were a 2-3 try better team at that point, then everything fell apart and we f**king sucked

We do t have the ability to defend our errors or get into a grind like Sharks, Raiders, Melbourne, Brisbane etc so our fate lies heavily on minimal errors

Its my opinion that the board couldnt get rid of Taylor at the end of last year because there was unfinished business. A lot of what has been going on at the club has been a result of the Brian Smith review of the joint and IMO there has been an intentional push to change the culture of the place. People have had to have been moved on and things changed and that was not complete until Farah joined Souths. That done then I think it has been a case of "Ok thats done lets go...." but I is very clear to everyone watching that its not going in a good direction with team performance.

The boards hand has been forced with Taylor but not (just) by the so called "big 4". Tigers only have 7 players on the books for next year and so next years coach will need to have a big input on who is re-signed and who comes from outside the club. That decision is best made early (regardless of the big 4) and if forced to make an early call, its a no brainer that its not going to be Taylor.
