If Hornby hangs around he will be doing it for the money and will fall out of favour quickly. Back up for injury.
Rein and King are the heirs apparent and Fien will relinquish his spot but cover for injury.
DeBelin isn't as good as Fritzell but will cover for the backrow and end up as a prop.
Vidot will move to the forwards and finally give us a running edge player.
I think Gower will bounce back and be the 5th prop.
Runciman and Green will fight for Cooper's spot.
The team above would be much faster and a lot more creative than this year's team. We can't have Fien, Hornby and Soward all directing play and letting the other blokes do the work.
They will look to sign a half back, second rower and centre (in that order) in 2014.
Interesting post. Is Fien actually contracted to play next year? It would seem odd to keep the King Rien, Fien merry go round going for yet another year.
I think, despite what I want, that Hornby is a lock at 7 as our captain next year. If not, I cant see him sticking around to play in the Cutters. A premiership winning captain is not going to be remembered as languishing in the NSW Cup no matter how much coin is on offer.
On a positive note I know nothing of Fritzell or Stockwell, but if they can hold down squad spots with King and Rein we would be witnessing a partial youthful re-build.
A lot hinges on what we do with cap money that will come when Cooper and Hornby hang up the boots though.
Will it be re-allocated to contracted players in a mysterious Skase like manner? Or will we finally go out and look for that true half back and game breaking centre.....
