You forgot Daniel Vidot, who has got better as the season progresses. I think he will make a pretty good player for us, if he stays.

yeaah hes too good to be dropped to cutters he has to go centre for chase but then what happens when kyle stanley comes back mid way through season ? depending on injuries i guess .. or even 17th man, after 2013 season 2014 is going to be hard calls on who will play where because players like King, Goodwin, Both stanley brothers and with others too its going to be hard to put certain players in 1 positon.

If Hornby hangs around he will be doing it for the money and will fall out of favour quickly. Back up for injury.

Rein and King are the heirs apparent and Fien will relinquish his spot but cover for injury.

DeBelin isn't as good as Fritzell but will cover for the backrow and end up as a prop.

Vidot will move to the forwards and finally give us a running edge player.

I think Gower will bounce back and be the 5th prop.

Runciman and Green will fight for Cooper's spot.

The team above would be much faster and a lot more creative than this year's team. We can't have Fien, Hornby and Soward all directing play and letting the other blokes do the work.

They will look to sign a half back, second rower and centre (in that order) in 2014.

The forward pack next year lacks mongrel and won't intimidate any other forward pack. Scott and Young are major losses for us next year. Why can't Doust, Price and C Young see it?

Agreed. I was just about to post whatever the team is, I just hope the forward pack gets some mongrel into themselves in the pre-season. Mez seems to be the only one who enjoys smashing people, I'd like them all to go out there as psychos.

I really do hope this is the team that would create so much more attack and soward will play mad with stanley it would be good to finally have stanley in the halves .. I hope we can sign someone like jennings for coopers spot no offence to green but he needs alot more time before coming into first grade friday night showed that..

and also if they do sign a halfback in a way that would be stupid we should wait until mid way to see where we are at if its inside the top 4 and stanley and soward are working great together then why buy any one ? re sign soward and stanley and we will have Great Success :D better signing a forward, second rower and centre !

Pearce and Jennings are not coming to the dragons stop fantasising!it will be hornby and Soward (if he stays) in the halves cooper in the centres when he's not injured and fien @hooker for 65 mins a game rein on th bench king at the cutters vidot on the wrong side for vidot and a revolving door at fullback, sound familiar anyone?

lets just say soward better stay cos if he goes and we loose any sort of signing from pierce or jennings we will be waiting another 31 years for a premiership, could be even longer..

Matt prior should not be in the team at all. He is the worst player in the nrl and for some reason the coach sees something we don't see and always has him in the team. We have better back rowers like fritzell,de ballin, markets,ah mau, vea, and maybe try vidot.

Unfortunately if you took out hornby cooper fien prior and anyone else who wasn't performing we wouldn't field a side.i know these guys have all been great but it's time to rebuild and it seems that their all hanging on for dear life and price doesn't have the balls to tap them on the shoulder and say its time fellas thanks but it's time and it's his career that's going down the gurgler the longer he avoids the inevitable as well as the whole soward drama and it's going to be a long painfull 2013 and beyond.

Interesting post. Is Fien actually contracted to play next year? It would seem odd to keep the King Rien, Fien merry go round going for yet another year.

I think, despite what I want, that Hornby is a lock at 7 as our captain next year. If not, I cant see him sticking around to play in the Cutters. A premiership winning captain is not going to be remembered as languishing in the NSW Cup no matter how much coin is on offer.

On a positive note I know nothing of Fritzell or Stockwell, but if they can hold down squad spots with King and Rein we would be witnessing a partial youthful re-build.

A lot hinges on what we do with cap money that will come when Cooper and Hornby hang up the boots though.

Will it be re-allocated to contracted players in a mysterious Skase like manner? Or will we finally go out and look for that true half back and game breaking centre.....
