According to @Rugbyleaguenews via twitter, Witt to remain Halfback, Stanley dropped and Quinlan on the bench. No word on who out of the pigs will remain on the bench. Not 100% on this guys reliability.
Quinlan hooker don't think so.
You really can't pick him on the bench either.
So now that's another kid lost thnx to clueless.
Just to appease him he now picks him regardless
I won't judge until I see how it actually pans out re team selection and how he actually performs in the game. My personal preference to combat our lack of size would be to pick 4 pigs on the bench. But as I said not 100% on this guys reliability as a sauce.
Agree. Rein (as bad as he is playing) needs to play 80. We need 4 x forwards on bench.
Rein has been better this year. I think some of the pressure has been taken off him with some quality in the halves. Every time Rein has come off this season, we have lost a lot of momentum. Now this may have been because Kyle who is not suited to the role was coming on or combination of both.
Rein is playing better this year, but to be fair it was a very low bar that he set himself last year. His service is better, he hasn't made silly decisions or mistakes and he's picked a few good moments.
However, watching Parra and Tigpies last night and seeing more creative hookers in Peats and Farah shows more of the kind of hooker I'd like in our team. Someone who can see an opportunity and create something for his teammates. I think that Garvey could have been that player had he kept his hands to himself and I hope he pulls his head in and lifts his game off the field so he can be the best player he can be on it.
On the thread topic, what bout forwards? Is big Josh gunna get a run?
Making Rein play for 80 when he defends at the level that he does is setting him up for failure.
I hope this rumour is true. We can't maintain the current experiment with Style, he is cruelling us as DH.
I'd be happy to see Quinny get 10-15 mins at the back end of each half testing the big men out around the ruck. If that's at DH so be it. If it's at HB, so be it.
No prob with four forwards on the bench either, but one of them has to be capable of giving Mitch a spell. Apart from Matthews, who else can fill that role? Might be time to reintroduce Garvey to the fold.

I don't think so bottle. I watched Sutton fill in at hooker a couple of games ago and he was terrible. It is a highly specialised and strategic position.
Witt is the obvious solution and given there isn't much between him and Williams it really needs to be Williams at 7 and Witt at 14. The team would be far better balanced and if Williams is struggling you have a tailor made substitution on the bench.
Quinlan will go ok as a link man but he rarely takes the line on and I'm not sold on his option taking or communication. We were in the process of turning him from a fullback into a half and now we are turning him from a half into a hooker. Coaching 101.
Will Matthews is truly the forgotten man isn't he? He played on the bench in a number of games are was pretty good. He also played a bit of dummy half and was certainly no worse than Stanley. I'd still rather have Williams at 7 and Witt at 14. Garvey obviously hasn't been forgiven so we are scraping the barrel. Having Quinlan on the bench seems a waste. Maybe Will Matthews is a viable short term solution.
In my opinion, Witt and Williams are our contenders for halfback until someone else provides a challenge through excellent efforts at halfback in the Cutters.
Given the size of our pack, Price should select four forwards on the bench for the majority of games this year. It would serve us well if Garvey could be one of the four however, if he is not being considered for selection then maybe Mathews will fit the bill.
Quinlan has had his opportunity in first grade for now and no doubt will get further opportunities this year through player injuries and SOO. So Quinlan should be happy and return to the position of fullback in the Cutters.
Peter Mata'Utia has been performing well in the Cutters and this week should make way for Quinlan at fullback and move to right centre in the Cutters. I believe he is knocking on the door for a run in first grade at right centre.
I hope Josh Ailaomai gets a run tomorrow night and if possible Garvey be included on the bench however, I think the Garvey return is for another day. Just the same, I believe our best team for tomorrow night would be:
1. Dugan
2. Morris
3. Beale
4. Farrell
5. Nightingale
6. Widdop
7. Witt
8. Stockwell
9. Rein
10. Hunt
11. Creagh
12. Thompson
13. Merrin
14. Garvey/Mathews
15. Harrison
16. Ah Mau
17. Ailaomai
