Assuming Buderus is out what do you do with the structure of our team?

I'm thinking:

Thaiday/Kidley
Carney
Gidley
Carmont
Quinn
Mullen
Johns
Perry
Kidley/Quigley
Woolnough
Simpson
Newton
Tanner
---
Davico
Smith
Quigley/Brown
Reynoldson

That looks about right I'd say. Bedsy should probably take an early guilty plea if it means he'll be there the week after, we need him if we want to win the GF.

I think we worked it out with Kidley. The games that Kidley played fullback earlier in the year... all was when we had a forward playing at 5/8 (Lowrie). Now that Mullen was there he had the chance to roam around and felt more comfortable throughout the game.

I'd be hesitant about playing Kidley at fullback. Earlier in the year he played some solid games filling in at that position (canberra, round 11 springs to mind), but he also had some shockers. I think that Kidley looked good at fullback tonight because he wasn't tested out once- we spent nearly the entire match camped out in their half.

But that being said, he may be our best/only option if Thaiday is still out injured.

Based on Thaiday's recent games, I'd argue that Kurt's still the better option. Thaiday might have scored those tries today, but you can bet he wouldn't have caught all of those bombs on the full.

I actually wouldn't mind that team. Kurt Gidley should be told to do the exact same thing he did against the Sea Eagles. Just take the ball and don't think about passing. Just back up and try to step and weave through traffic.

Thaiday can then come on and shift Kidley into hooker in attack, but leave Kidley in the back in defence. I still think that Kidley is probably better under the high ball than Thaiday.

Kind of a radical idea but it may work.

Thaiday is our best option at Fullback now - one good game does not a fullback make. Kidley could potentially be very good at Hooker - his passing game appears bad but they are forced passes trying to set up a magic play. Give him more room and supplying ball to the blokes setting up the plays - he could be great!

Dunno about this whole Kidley at FB (this was meant to say hooker!) business. Bit crazy i think, removes his best strength from tonight-support play. Is Quigley/Brown fit? Prefferably Quigley..

Isn't the major component of a FB in attack the support play?

Yeah, which also happens to be one of Kidley's strengths, more so than passing and organising the ruck
