Team for Storm trial

I don't disagree with you Benek, but surely he can gauge a players best position through training.

If he doesn't know by now..

I don't know if it's about selecting best position. It may be that he knows which position they will be in but not necessarily who's earning the top spot in that position.

Kata is going to be chosen. If Manu is fit I think he deserves this year to prove he's still got it. Fusitua is chosen for sure, but it could be wing or centre. That leaves Tui, Ayshford, etc. fighting for a spot and SK may want them all to get a lot of playing time in trials to help pick who gets it. Whereas the middle forwards are pretty much going to choose themselves because we have little depths and already a few injuries. So less need to trial those positions, right?

Vaughan was (past tense) available, Dragons signed him. Same with Vaivai (Titans) and Papalii (France?).

Please not Luke Page.
Sure, his highlight video is great and all, but have you seen him play a few times (as in full games?)
Theres a reason why he made very few (maybe even a single) appearance for the Dragons, then dissappeared from the NRL

Abraham Papalii is a better shout, as is Paul Vaughan.
I quite rate the other guy the Raiders have, Boyd however he wouldn't be cheap.

Lillyman is injured I believe, but isn't out long. We should see him do well this year as he is off contract at seasons end.

This will be a better (or rather more relevant) test to see where Sipley, Afoa are at.

I'm interested as to what specifically you don't like about Luke Page.. I have seen him play (full games), never bothered watching highlights packages (they don't give you any idea of a player's real worth). He's hardly a world beater, but the dude has a good work rate, lays a platform and doesn't give up many errors or penalties. For a cheapie, that's all I want from a prop. Marker defence needs work... but to be quite frank we have worse defenders currently in the team. I can't judge a guy on getting ignored by McGregor... that guy has no idea.

Boyd no chance, he's not off contract and I'm pretty sure the Raiders will throw the bank at him when he does come off contract.

Only 1 year contracts from here on out if we're re-signing Lillyman, surely. He's old and replaceable... a few guys of that prop type (decent minutes, good defence, low errors) are off contract and younger/better/likely cheaper.

I doubt Bunty will be an effective middle in the NRL - but potentially a really handy edge forward. Will be interesting to see how he pans out.
