If we lose Mahoney we'll almost certainly lose anyway, but it would mostly be covered by Gutho and possibly Drown. We don't need to give a fourth benchie minutes but losing a couple of forwards to injury or hia would make that fourth forward useful.
Why wouId we automatically lose? JA can pass and tackle (obviously not as good as Reed), and I bet you, the other 16 wouIdn’t think the game was over!!

And if Gutho / Drown had to play dummy half, our attack will be a lot more crap then if JA just slotted in. Moving those 2 to the role wouId massively change our attack!! If we had to do that, thats more likely to cause us to lose then JA playing dummy half…

Assessing risk, it’s harder to cover a spine position and the likelyhood of losing 3 forwards in a game is a lessor chance of happening….we have already lost a spine player twice in 3 games but can’t recall the last time we lost 3 players to injuries…

Bloody Atkins in the bunker and the poor girls have Atkins female equivalent, Badger as the Referee. Look for both to have their "Look at me" TV moments. Grrrrrrrr.

How many minutes in his career has JA played hooker? Why is he a better option than Rein? He doesn't adequately cover the halves.

Sean O'Sullivan was not selected in the State Championship match vs QLD Devils. He is 18th man on Pennsy NRL list.

He trains there, and has finished a few games this year there too. Obviously not a specialist dummy half, but he wouIdnt be the first specialist half to start their NRL career playing mins at dummy half…..

Rein doesn’t cover the halves, so he isnt the cover BA is looking for…whether you or I think he is adequate or not…..BA and co have decided he is good enough and who can argue with a GF coach…

and JA covers the halves a lot better then Matterson or Cartwright would…..

anyhow enjoy the week, we are in the GF….BA has done a great job with his selections….

JA was picked rnd 1 when Stone was fit.

But I'd say by now Stone would be the 14 and seen as the guy who can cover hooker if needed. While Bryce probably gets N.Browns spot as he can cover halves and forwards.
Either way JA has landed in this role. Come the off season we will see another NSW cup halfback purchased who will put pressure on.
Most likely JA won't be needed. We also now have 3 forward in the bench whomcan cover long minutes if need be. All could punch out 40-50 with no trouble.

Well I don't think he's better than Matterson or Cartwright in the halves as he's not up to first grade standard physically. But yes, I will enjoy the week. Woohoo.
