Maybe they train in different positions? Williams trialled as a middle, but he must have trained on the edge at least a bit if he's playing there this week. I'd say the players who can play multiple positions probably all have a go training in them.
Why did we bring him to the club? The coach doesn't negotiate contracts, but he would at least say whether or not he wanted a player.
