While all of Aotearoa wanted a 1-outs with anyone who disregards Tokoroa's Joseph Manu, Sydney Roosters dished out the 18th Kiwi-NRL debut as Moala Graham-Taufa was graced with a couple minutes of NRL footy.

Seriously, though - our defence overall has had a sucky attitude (ie: falling off tackles easily).

Bit harsh to lay that squarely at Cartwright's feet, when others are faring no better...

I think putting your body on the line is a matter of choice, and it’s fairly obvious when an NRL player fails to do so.

Is it really a matter of not knowing? I mean, you know it. Why wouldn’t they know it too? More likely is we just lack the mobility to get numbers in the tackle as consistently as the other teams.

Also need to be more physical - we just wait for the attacker to come to us, and they are able to get over the advantage line easily.

Because we have too many slugs taking too long to get back and into the defensive line.

Was it Lehman on the other wing on the 2s last Monday Gronky? Im not sure where he came from but suffice to say I dont think he's providing any pressure to be elevated to the 1s. Not surprised this kid is being given a run this week.

Lehman isn’t even a full time athlete. He is way down the pecking order.

One of the downsides to “chasing the collision” and being very physical is that it’s harder to prioritise the wrestle straight after making contact whilst the attacker is standing. There would be less room for error as well if you get it even slightly wrong, making it harder to get back to an effective marker position.
I think we need to find a better balance between trying to dominate attackers and just controlling the ruck.

I would imagine Dylan brown will move out to the centres while JA starts in the halves would be the plan if opacic is out going off the teamsheet.

4pm Sunday on here will be interesting if they go with that lineup and get beat. The riot squad might be needed.

Pick your best 17 and worry about the numbers on their backs later. We are now at the point where Perham and Arthur are in our best available 17. We need to find a way to fit them in. If they lack versatility (i.e. Jake Arthur) we need to rely on the versatility of others (i.e. Drown) to make it work.

Seriously question here. Knowing how few cattle we have left, what is your side should Reg and Oppa be out ?

Definitely doing it tough in the outside backs Gronky.
Oregon will come in for Reg no doubt and Id go Elie El-Zakem in the 17 given hes on the extended bench. Hes earned his debut.
Matto to center if Oppy is out and Id bring Rein and Carty into the 17. Jake wouldnt make the bench if its my choice. Id like to see him play a lot better than he did last Monday to earn his promotion.
Rein would play 10 to 15 either side of halftime. Rheed just isnt an 80 min player at the moment. The Cronulla middle/back rower seems to be going ok and Matto was doing sprint training with Fabri last off season.
Just my thoughts.

Is that based on Drown moving to centres and JA playing in the halves? Last time JA took a lead role in the halves we scored Zero tries and a bunch of penalty goals... I do not share your confidence that we simply outscore them if we defend well ... Which we haven't in most games so far by the way...
