The elevation of Davey so quickly is a huge surprise, particularly given the form of Cartwright.

Dunster remaining in the team also strange, although his defence was fairly solid.
He's marking Fafita ?

Dunsters has been terrible. I'm suprised. But perhaps BA likes the kid and thinks Russel needs more work. I'd pick Russel personally.
I'd be suprised if Matto isn't a late change to start. Unsure this will be an easy game. Titans can be hot and cold but they don't play your standard 5 step shuffle. They move the ball and have speed. If the passes stick they will tear us apart.

Did you watch Fridays game at all?

I was at the ground and Dunster's inability to back up Penisini on two line breaks was atrocious and a glaring failure for a first grade winger.

Has his knee miraculously recovered this week?
Sorry mate, you're avoiding the obvious. You can't have a centre miss every 3rd tackle in a match. You can talk all day how Dunster was slow to keep up with Will, but the Tits have sharp backs and they will tear us up if we don't defend well. So Bailey comes straight back in and Russell goes back to reggies to get his timing right.

Hmmm... some interesting starting selections:
Russell re-signed - and then immediately demoted?
Davey (virtually immediately) promoted to starting edge?

Bench seems as good as it can get:
Cartwright as a reserve edge option, depending how Davey and Lane are going.
Hands to come on for somewhere between 30-50mins, depending how Hodgson is holding up.
And Matterson and Makatoa on the bench as our replacement middles, with Matterson able to do some edge work too - no issues there.

For the life of me dont understand dropping Russell for Dunster. Yes they both have deficiencies in their game (Russell defensively was poor, Dunster is as fast as a granny on a zimmerframe) but i would have thought with Russell just re-signing that it points to his long term involvement in the team - so picked Dunster before him makes little sense. The only validation would be if Russell was carrying an injury and needs to get through a fitness test to play, and if he does he trumps Dunster.

I did expect Davey to make the team - we wouldnt have signed him if he wasn't inline for first grade as otherwise he'd have stayed put that dogs. I dont know what it says for either the dogs eye for talent, or our lack of quality depth that he goes from not being able to get a top 17 spot at a club in the bottom 4 to starting for last years runners up - but it is what it is. He's dependable and wont let us down. I'm certain he'll end up starting from the bench though

How did Davey Jump over Matto or Cartwright or Doorey?

I am assuming it's his defence against Fafita? 20 minutes Matto comes on?
