Did you watch Fridays game at all?

I was at the ground and Dunster's inability to back up Penisini on two line breaks was atrocious and a glaring failure for a first grade winger.

Has his knee miraculously recovered this week?

Noticed that watching on fox. Dunster was no where to be seen and penisi is slow. Or not a noted speedster

Sorry mate, you're avoiding the obvious. You can't have a centre miss every 3rd tackle in a match. You can talk all day how Dunster was slow to keep up with Will, but the Tits have sharp backs and they will tear us up if we don't defend well. So Bailey comes straight back in and Russell goes back to reggies to get his timing right.
don't twist it - I'm not saying Russell has been good, but Dunster on Friday night was flat out embarrassingly terrible....and not for the first time since his return!

Dunster should have been the first player dropped - if we had another fit three quarter you could then reassess Russell.

We don't have another fit Top 30 player. In reggies we have LumeLume and a Ron Massey Cup Winger.

1 thing you aren't taking into consideration is wing defending is a lot easier than centre defending. With Simonson coming back Russell would have been shifted to wing which would be much easier defensively with the added bonus of being able to support his centre in the event of a line break unlike the guy who has been selected

Is Dunster's defence that good that it trumps his inability to perform the basic attacking functions of a first grade winger? Genuine question, no sarcasm.
You're verging on hyperbole now. He's no way as bad as you say and already better than anything LumeLume can offer.

Well yes unfortunately. But I don't think Super Simmonson is any better than Russell..

Dunster couldn’t even keep up with any breaks we made, him being picked ahead of Russell is laughable.

To be honest, I was a Dunster fan in the juniors and was thrilled to see him show his potential in late 2021.

I was also happy to see him return this year - but when your centre turns to look for you on a line break and you are not within a bulls roar and are instead appearing to lope but obviously trying (twice), then we had to have hoped he'd been taken out (which he hadn't).

I suggest you watch the replay, because it was a pretty obvious and basic failure. Sometimes a stat line doesn't tell the true picture.

You do realise that some decisions are wrong? You don't have to blindly defend absolutely everything.
