A takeaway from this weekend’s results for me is that all the Ch9 and NewsLtd experts who predicted wins by Canberra and Cronulla or even close matches whilst providing pages of analysis to justify their stance, know f**k all.

I’d like to challenge the notion that the Cows have had a great year or that they are the real deal. Like Cronulla, they have been kissed on the dick and had a rails run to the top 4.

Can they beat us ? Of course they can, because we might not turn up or they may lift in a rush of home ground adrenaline. But I am taking issue with their “real deal” tag and how Paten is the coach on everyone’s shoping lists.

The difference between them, the Sharks and us ? They actually won the games they were supposed to win.

Notes:

1. They beat us in NT in one of our didn’t turn up weeks. I think we beat ourselves rather than they beat us. Fair play, they got the chocolates.
2. They beat Storm, the week after Pennys beat Storm. Can’t argue with that.
3. The win against Pennys was vs a reggies team.
4. They beat Cronulla last week.

Cowboys got 6 away games in QLD and NT also helped.

Dogs, Tigers and Parra all took home games away from home to cowboys.

They won those 3 games at neutral venues which could have been different in Sydney.

It wasn't until round seven where Jakey got a full tilt in the Halves against the Knights, whom we flogged, despite having to go down that road due to injury leaving us that thin we were looking outside the club to sign an outside back as replacement / cover. And that only lasted for the next game against the Cowboys.

Yep the exact same backline belted the Knights so there was obviously something else going on in Darwin. But Dylan Brown has never started at centre while we had four NRL calibre outside backs available.

And now it's Dunster, Russell, and Opacic are likely unavailable - or less likely to be selected in the starting 13 than Arthur.

Arthur has only started in the halves with Drown at centre while all of these merkins (and plenty of others) were unavailable. Otherwise he's only started in the halves when Moses or Drown were unavailable.

The fact Perham was in first grade and Drown was in the centres proves we had a serious outside backs crisis. Sivo, Dunster, Russell, Blake and Opacic were all unavailable.

I forgot about Niukore. He was out too for the Knights and Cowboys games.

Senior mate. I couldnt believe it. Yes the same price as kids. Best $12 I ever spent. My young bloke even bought me a coffee. A great day.
