I see Jackson Hastings on an extended Newcastle bench. Maybe he's likely to return to 7 ? He played NSW cup last weekend.

Is it weird that I want Tricky and Ronnie to have an extra week off to heal properly?

I just love the style of play we displayed against the Titans, and want to see the exact same result against the Knights.

Just a warning: It’s a Channel 9 game, so Joey will be displaying bipolar tendencies for the whole 2 hour telecast…

It has occurred to me a couple of times - does anyone remember when Des Hasler had those ball-playing forwards at Canterbury, and the halves played a lesser role?

That was a definitely a power game!

The way we’ve played against Storm and Titans has some similarities. I’m sure the Titans didn’t know whether McInnes was gonna ball-play or take a hit-up as a middle…

I do also remember those games Bluey. It was around the time of Shreik Kasiano etc.
I remember the close up wall of forwards with close short passing. It worked a treat.

He is a smart cookie is our Dessie.

Bellamy always had something up his sleeve.
Almost as if he coached 2 styles and game plans.
normal season and post season.
More often than not they had some plays and structure up their sleeve whether it be defensively or offensively.

Last couple of years, teams adjusted defensively against us and easily accounted for the ‘slingshot’ as an example.
This season we have attempted different styles for different opponents which is a positive move and growth

That needs to evolve to being able to pivot into a different style mid game like the Storm do so well.

100%

I wonder if Bellamy never had to do that because he had half a team of rep players from day 1.
He could set a game plan and go for it.
As his career progressed he worked out new ways to coach mid game
