He does it at least once every match. Often several times.

Who is our defence skills coach?

Indeed. Something else going on in the backline.
Winger perhaps. It's hard to ignore where the tries were being scored last Sunday.

I mentioned some time ago over at WORL that Greenshields would be a good choice for the wing (good defense, good under high ball, good anticipation etc) but I was unanimously shot down by all and sundry who beleived he wouldn't do the job there.

LOL. I said the same thing here. I put down a little more gently. ;-)

I made the observation when he scored a couple of tries out wide earlier this year. On top of what you said, it seems like he has good finishing qualities.

Best isn't the problem. It's Gasnier. If Gasnier had any sense of positional defending, then Best wouldn't have to cover 2-3 players at a time. Gasnier is sensational in attack, but horrid in defense. Not one on one like Blacklock used to struggle with, but positionally. I feel sorry for anyone who plays outside him. He needs have more faith in his inside defenders.

Yeah Gaz is a shocker. He's more concerned with looking good in attack, involving himself and trying to prove to everyone he will be a great 5/8th, and then when it comes time to defend him and Best are like Lloyd and Harry from Dumb and Dumber.

What's this deal with starting Bailey at lock? It's amazing how clubs like Eels, Roosters, & Tigers are all struggling for FG props, but Dragons have the proivilege of playing a prop at lock for extra go-forward. If only us Chooks had kept Cusack & either kept Cayless or buy Nutley. We could have seen Morley at lock!

Well there was no Gasnier tonight.

I agree that wingers are not to blame for poor decisions made closer to the ruck and there is some basis to what you're saying, but two tries got past Best again.

The first one was a shocker. Running infield, opening up the tryline for Grothe. I'm the last person to point the finger at wingers but what was Best thinking?

We hope for the Best and always get the worst ( sorry ) . He looked even more lost tonight than usual . I surpose he will be starting against Canterbury , and I surpose no one will be surprised where the Dogs will run crucial plays .
