Wondering what everybody thinks about a team of the half-decade, seeing as the 'noughties' are already half over.

Here's my thoughts - will add to it later

1. Lockyer
2.
3.
4.
5.
6. Fittler
7. Johns
8. Webcke
9.
10.
11. Tallis
12. Hindmarsh
13.

Some notes I should make though before I get a whole heaps of nay-sayers and trolls on my back. Obviously our selections are going to be influenced by what's happened in the last year or two. It is also interesting to note that, for example, in the team of the 1990s, the fullback didn't even debut until 1995, so who's to say that there won't be half a dozen or so young guns in the team of the decade in five years' time?

Hence, it's a team of the half-decade only. Let us see what you think.

Tuqiri on one of the wings. Get rid of Tallis, Fitzgibbon has done far more this century.

Would you put Girdler in the centres? Considering what he did at State of Origin, plus the Panthers making the finals three years out of five in the noughties?

Centre was a hard one for me to pick, hence the blank.

After 2001 I would have put Brad Drew at hooker, but obviously that's not going to happen!

Harder than first thought admittedly, and very debateable. Matt Gidley is another centre that can come into calculations given every year barring 2004, the Knights have been in the finals as well as winning in 2001. Ryan Girdler on the back of impressive club form (when not injured) and some blinders at rep level was hard to ignore.

Look forward to seeing the other line-ups.

I wouldn't have a clue about who would make up the whole squad but I reckon that it would be very unfortunate if Nathan 'Tingha' Blacklock was not in the side! Leading try scorer in 2001, 2000 (and '99, know it doesn't count). If for anything than it would have to be just sheer excitement watching him when he is on fire!!! Although I know Sing is a good selection, Tingha gets the nod in my books.

blacklock could score tries...but thats about it! Defence was "suspect" to say the least.

Lote, Tahu, and Sing have much higher claims

I think Orford and even Kimmorley have better claims to the 7 over Johns. Johns has played what 2 good years this decade? I'm not doubting Johns ability, but surely with how much time he has spent on the sidelines one could hardly include him in the team.

Johns played all of 2000
Missed 8 or so weeks in the middle of 2001
Played all of 2002, injured in the semi vs stg
Played 3/4 of 2003
Missed virtually all of 2004

I think Johns has strong claims to be the #7

I stand corrected, seemed like he was out longer than that.
