We really need an organising half back. I'll give Moltzen time, but ouch when it falls to bits no one directs the ship.

I thought he went alright last night. I think if we give him some time he can come good.

I know this maybe a touchy subject but Robbie Farah, I can't remember the last time he had a good game. Maybe he is trying to hard and the lack of a specialist halfback is probably hurting his game, but Robbie isn't anywhere near where he was 2 to 4 years ago. He also has to learn to put the kick away.

I just think he isn't the player that he used to be. He is still good but his options at critical times simply kill us. That kick was a poor option when we were on their line.

Hard to fault the miss tackle against Williams but still he was there and that was another big part of the game.

He is a good player just not great at the moment.

Utai's a poor man's Fitzhenry.....

Honestly though, why did Tigers pay Blair 500K a year. If he was a rookie we'd be saying he's not ready for first-grade.

Just before the half ended was the key to our loss, we gave them a sniff.
If we had taken that 2nd penalty goal instead of going for touch.
Would have been 10-0 and our ball to close out the half leaving them scoreless.

I have no problem with him missing the tackle against Williams, a lot of players would of missed him as well.

I don't like when he gets in to the middle of the field and plays first or second receiver like he did last night. That's where Motlzen needs to be, not Robbie.

On a positive though I thought Woods had another strong game, but we do miss Keith up front.

I don't get why we dropped Matt Bell for BMM. Another great move by the idiot Sheens. Someone needs to get Farah out of first receiver as well. Either we put complete faith in Motlzen or we drop him and put Miller in.

Thanks Hybrid.

I would have though Bell would be a better choice as he has the experience that BMM doesn't have and it may have put less pressure on Groat and Woods playing next to an older head as opposed to another young bloke.

As usual our forwards got dominated when it really mattered and this has to stop! Knew eagles would come out hard in 2nd half and tigers would have to match them but with poor ball security along with Ellis being injured, game was put to rest in 13 minutes. Eagles forwards were better organised, ran with purpose and support especially by King and Kite. This foundation was exploited by their halfbacks superior attacking ability and kicking game. One particular run that Wattmough made had Woods and Groat going backwards - no shoulder power involved and did not look good. It is time that coach Sheens played a real organising halfback, (Moltzen did tackle better), which would free up Farah to play his hooker role. Lawrence plays too flat but did some great tackles, Utai makes too many elementary mistakes (time for a change). Aysford played better than last weeks no effort and Ryan again played with passion and enthusiasm - hopefully this is contageous. Has Reddy clawed the F/b position off Humble? Has the weight of being the pre season favourite been too much of a burden?

Hey gents, after watching the game on ch 9 I decided to watch a 2nd time FOX, why? not because I'm a sucker for punishment, there were some things I saw 1st time round.

Farah, someone told me that he only played 30 minutes max in his 1 and only trial against the roosters. He does look under done after ops on both groin's and the knock he took early in the game may have done more damage / hurt that anyone on here knows.

Moltzen, I wondered at times if he'd gone off but the 2nd time I watched it, it was a case for me, of he did plenty in defence even if he was 3rd man in and he did touch the ball plenty of times but was not just called by Rabbits. But, I watched him and Humble and thought, why not swap at times or at least, bring Humble up so there's a 2nd 6/7 on other side of Moltzen/Benji to put opp in two minds, Humble looked like having a go more than Benji's mate Tim.

I think also that Reddy would be the ideal replacement for Utai.

Heighno, gee you can't fault his effort gee he tries hard but so too did Groat and Woods. I think Bell would be 1st choice as a starter next week but does Sheens drop Moors or BMM?

That was early in the first half and was due to poor positioning and communication by Groat & Woods. In the second half they threw Watmong back about 5 meters in one tackle.

Watch it again. By far BMM's best game in FG. Made nearly 10 metres on every hit up. Dragged players with him, was difficult to stop. Tackled well.

I think its fair to say that our centres are struggling because our kicking game isn't good and our forwards have been switching off for large chunks of a game.

Default course of action for the Tigers when this happens, is to spread the ball wide when there's nothing on and hope for the best. It leaves our outside backs looking like shit.

Moltzen has been more effective as a fullback last year than as a halfback this year.

Murdoch-Masila did play a good game, but if thats the best game he has ever played then we really shouldn't persist with him anymore.

Sounds bad to say but Utai's injury could be the best thing to happen to us.

Maybe Tuqiri will come back a week early now? He was due back round 4 anyway.
