One of the flaws of Channel Nine's 4pm delayed Sunday arvo game is that if it's a minute to six, and a player is lining up a kick to level the scores and send the game into golden point, then you know he's missed it.

The news is on at 6pm regardless. Any moment of extra time would be played before six o'clock.

How do you get penalised for being elbowed in the face twice???
It could only happen to a Warrior!

And holy shit! I don't think Lowrie got penalised once!

Even though I knew the result I still got nervous when he got subbed back on in the last five minutes and we were under pressure getting out of our own end.

I think he did his job today, that is to be a solid, no frills player. We bought him for that reason, no?

He also had one good run up the middle at an important time. I'm happy if that's his lot.

I also noticed his team mates weren't passing to him and were using him only as a decoy. I have mixed feelings about that, sure we have better attacking options but, then again, we also have plenty of potential show ponies who can throw good moves away.

Yeah, I'm trying not to be a Lowrie hater. If he cut out the penalties, I think people would go easier on him. He's no Luck, but he'll do.

I think another thing that hampers him, is the low quality ball he gets. He can do some smart things, but those penalties he concedes, erase any good that he does.

Him and Neilson both, supposed to be solid bankable players who'll do the less flashy hard work, stiffen up the defence and give away few errors and penalties.

At least Neilson achieves this.

This is hopeless trying to give live updates, where's Phil?

Had to tape the delayed coverage as had a family arvo lunch.
Nervous as hell watching it not knowing results.
Johnson kicking was average at times, and knocking Fishi for Wallace's try.
Broncos had a great kicking game, just pinning us down, before Hurrell's intercept I though we had put the cue in the rack, then did all we could to keep them in it after that.
Watching Parkers kick back on replay it looked to miss to the left, but Locke caught it near the right post, must a been camera trick, or wind, curve around post?
Mannering pulled out some great hits on Wallace.
Matagi had a great start, but no second stint.
Lowrie on for Mateo was very questionable.
Hope Manu isn't to bad as has been on good form lately.
Had a few tough calls, Johnson penalized when in wrist lock, Neilson held back on chip through, should of been penalty not drop out, there was even one the Aussie commentators pointed out that has slipped my mind.

Some great numbers by the forwards,
Lillyman:159m
Rapira:158m
Matulino:147m

Hats off to Parker with 182m backing up from SOO.

That was top level football.
Now for the Bunnies in Perth.

We looked so much more dangerous with Manu out on the wing even though the mini beast filled in for a while.

Front row is really starting to fire. Did Matagi get a second stint on the field?

I wouldn't imagine Matagi's fitness is too much of a problem. He's a backrower/prop and I think he plays big minutes for the Vulcans?

He's also pretty damn small for a prop, when they were showing the shots of the team in the sheds before the game I couldn't pick out who he was and thought we must've been playing some new winger or stand-off or something. Lillyman is pretty short and squat for a prop and Matagi was noticeably shorter and not as broad as Lillyman.

Makes up for it with acceleration and a genuine burst of speed though.

I know it's working and were winning but I don't understand how he can only play 15 minutes, surely he's fitter than that. He had some great runs yesterday.

I don't know what the thinking there is. When it happened a few weeks ago, I thought it must've been an injury.

Was I the only person expecting Corey Parker to nail that kick?

For some reason I was absolutely certain he was going to miss. Actually had to remind myself as he moved in that there was still a possibility he might kick it.

When they decided to kick for goal I felt massively relieved as it felt like they were on their way and I could just see a bomb going up on the last and them scoring a scrappy try or something like that. Them attempting a kick felt like a win.

When Matagi was going all guns blazing at the start it reminded me of the early days when Paleaaesina was running around. Hopefully he can get more game time in the weeks ahead.
