Torrid start in the NSW cup, Warriors kick on the last, Laban as mentioned before is a guy that chases kicks and can pluck them out of the air with ease (Him, Leka, Ali, Moala are all Manu Vatuvie like in their ability to pluck kicks), Laban calmly takes the kick on the full, first thought is to pass to someone faster, finds Tuaupiki who races in under the posts.
Taine converts 6 nil.
Warriors forwards dominating the Raiders at will.
Classic Raiders hit back through the middle third, Footwork leaves the big Warriors forwards *in a Blocker Roach accent* standing flat, nice try, conversion goes over 6 all eight minutes in.
Settler period. a tight arm wrestle follows. However the massive Warriors forwards including Bunty are just too big and fast for Canberra to hold, 14 Minutes in the Warriors in the Red Zone, Bunty with a fast ptb, right shift through Hanson the stand off hits Tuaupiki with a bullet Pass, Taine pumps a fake pass then steps back on the inside and shreds the Raiders defence to dot down by the posts.
Conversion by Taine goes over Warriors 12 Raiders 6.
!7 minutes in the Warriors are hot on attack again, Hanson who is having a red hot game puts the ball on the toe for a Grubber into the in goal, the Warriors fastest back Pasikala the rising star from two grades lower races in to ground the ball, Taine with a rare sideline miss sees the Warriors up 16-6.
Warriors hot on attack again, Bunty throws a face ball, something we never see in NRL from him. Afoa is the form forward of the NSW cup, I have not seen better this year, somewhat of a conundrum for our NRL set up...if he was a Junior he would be a superstar future prospect given he is outplaying names like Leka, Dimitric, Maiuú etc. The only NSW cup forward performer who even comes close to Bunty is Ale.
Handling errors both sides sees us go into half time in a game with two strong teams, that will be won by the team that wakes up and holds the ball while not getting off side with the Reff. Case in point Dimitric penalised on the buzzer giving the Raiders a shot on goal.
Raiders convert, 16-8 Warriors.
Oranges.
