Here we go. 2020 is our year, LOL

Saturday at 5pm. How are we looking?

1- Tuivasa Sheck
2- Fusitu'a
3- Herbert
4- Hiku
5- Maumalo
6- Harris-Tavita
7- Green
8- Paasi
9- Egan
10- Blair
11- Pulu
12- Harris
13- Burr

Res- Ah Mau, Afoa, Nikorima, Papali'i

To be honest, I agonized over that last bench spot. It's hard to know who to pick without having seen what kind of shape and form the guys are in.

Any idea what Roache's fitness status is?

Also, I still don't quite know what Tevaga's future is? I know he wants 13, but I'm not sure that's where I want to see him

While the core of the Warriors' forward pack is expected to remain unchanged from last year, Paasi is backing 20-year-old forward Josh Curran to force his way into the starting 13 for the season opener against the Newcastle Knights.

After making just two appearances for the Warriors last year following his mid-season switch from the Roosters, Curran's strong pre-season has caught the eye of coach Stephen Kearney.

"He [Curran] has got a great skill set and has come from an environment at the Roosters where they set pretty high standards," Kearney said.

"He potentially has an opportunity here to cement himself as an NRL player. It's just a matter of making sure that he stays on task.

"I think he has got the capability to be able to do that."

Harris, Curran and one of Burr/Papali’i/ Blair in the back row would be a step in the right direction. I see Curran has been picked in the Indigenous squad.

Yeah, I mostly like what I saw from Curran last season. He certainly had a dig every time he got a chance and had some good go forward. I'd happily have him there ahead of Papali'i in my 17. But I think Tevaga will be there

Tevaga is out for the first half of the year right?

I'm still not getting why Burr constantly features in everyones picks, I saw nothing from him last year to suggest he's anything other than average.

Sometimes I think that any Australian forward is considered the next Luck or Campion when their only similarity is that they're Australians.

Would love to pick Taumalolo or Trbojevic

I feel that this is Currans chance to get his foot in the door and then close it behind him.

Jazz can come back and be a great #14

Was he ever really a great 14 though? I'm confused. To me, a 14 needs to be able to play hooker and Jazz doesn't. Potentially, our 14 may also be Nikorima/Harris Tavita or Lawton ahead of Tevaga even if Jazz was fit. Last I understood, Jazz was 13, whether in the NRL or the NSW cup

He was a good #14. Covers the whole forward pack and can do a job at hooker. Ideally we have a 80 minute hooker so whoever we have in that utility spot will only ever need to go to dummy half in case of emergency.

He's a good player to get on at points in games to lift the intensity and do a job.

In my opinion he is too good for reserve grade, not good enough for starting 13 but perfect for the bench.

Given that I don’t think that Blair and Papali’i are going to miss the 17 (not my preference, just being realistic as to Kearneys selection process), I would be happy to see Curran given the chance to join Harris in the back row, and have Blair And Papali’i share lock/middle duties.

I’m with this. Not actually a huge fan of Tevaga, but to be fair to him, it’s mostly because I feel like Kearney relies on him too much. About 8 matches into our successful start in early 2018, Tevaga started coming on at the 20min mark, and playing out the remainder of the game. The intensity thing is good for 20-25 mins maybe. Not entire games though.

This is my preference. Jazz misses the 17 for mine.
