I'm still not getting why Burr constantly features in everyones picks, I saw nothing from him last year to suggest he's anything other than average.

.
I think you’re spot on with the bog average evaluation... and that’s why he’s got to be in the 17

Kearney's 17 for this game will give an indication or whether he is listening to the advice around him or is going to pig-headedly stick with his favourites and go out guns blazing. (Make that " like a damp squid".)

Does Taane Milne get more of a chance this year, or does he have the Eye of Ligi on him?

Yeah, I'd like to see him and I wouldn't complain if they deemed him to be ahead of Herbert. I guess it comes down to who has been better in training?

I'd want him to be playing better than Herbert though, he was actually one of the bright spots from last year.

At least Kata is gone so we can actually have this discussion.

Kata may be gone, but Beale is still here.

yes, but he is hardly a guy who gets picked despite bad form. He is more of an injury replacement.

Our centre pairing looked best last year when it was Hiku/Herbert

Yeah, I would hardly put Beale on Kata level. Beale has barely played for the Warriors due to injury.

Agreed that Hiku/Herbert looked good last year, two centres who can actually put a man away and Hiku seemed to improve his one on one defence.

And that is the key. Hope to see Fusitu'a regain some form and Maumalo build on his form from last year and then them actually benefit from having decent centre partners. And I really hope we ditch the overreliance on our back 3 in the first 3 tackles and start to have vision for them in the last 3 tackles.

It's a sad read no matter which way team we name.

1. RTS
2. Fusitua
3. Hiku
4. Herbert
5. Maumalo
6. Nikorima/CHT
7. Green
8. Paasi
9. Egan
10. Ah Mau
11. Pulu
12. Harris
13. Papali'i

14. Nikorima/CHT
15. Curran
16. Afoa
17. Lisone/Frei/Blair/Katoa/Whoever

My point was more that while we’re all tossing up who is better between Herbert and Milne, Beale is still here, and knowing Kearney, that’s who we’ll get stuck with partnering Hiku.

Random news from the Mole this morning saying Bunty has sustained a serious knee injury. Out for a big part of the season.

INJURY BLOW FOR WARRIORS
The Warriors have been hit by a major blow before a ball has been kicked in anger this season.

Hard-working prop Bunty Afoa has suffered a serious knee injury and is likely to miss a large slice of the season.

The injury has ramifications in both hemispheres - the Warriors have been shopping fellow prop Sam Lisone to several English clubs over the summer.

But now Afoa is down and out, the club will keep Lisone on deck to fill the void.

So instead of watching Bunty get dominated in possesion, we will have to cop Lisone & his shit!

This is going to be some season.
