Wells is a specialist fullback, Fusitua is not. Did well in his single first grade appearance there though.

I don't mind them rotating Gavet and Gubb for Lisone and Vete- it keeps all our props match fit and gives us more depth in case of injury or form issues.

If they must rotate then I'd prefer Sipley (who has been playing really good footy down below and is a better prospect than either Gavet or Gubb), perhaps Sao over them also.

But really I'm not a fan of over rotating guys, even young props. There's a good reason the top teams each year tend to be the teams who rotate the least, despite the seemingly intuitive Origin-bias against this. Give them a game off every now and then.. but they're coming off a bye week, and Vete's only played 5 NRL games all year, the last before Broncs was like round 6.

Similar to Tui then is Fusitua, as we all know Tui wasnt a fullback till just as of late but is going good there. He goes good anywhere except centres I guess.

Eh, yeah I guess. I wouldn't call them overly similar players though.

Lolohea reads like a modern NRL fullback - good ball playing skills, but primarily a very slippery runner with quality in one-on-one defensive plays. Oh, and out and out speed.

Fusitua is a straight-up freaky athlete with brilliant finishing skills. He's so good athletically and has enough ball skills that he can get away with playing fullback, but I'm guessing in the long term he's more suited to the positions in which he can put his best abilities to use (finishing in the corner, vertical leap), as either a wing or maybe a centre (where his ball skills can also be used as sort of a compromise). Fullbacks can score plenty of tries, but rarely in the manner that Fusitua's excellent abilities create from half opportunities.

I still think that Tui should be our 6 and Fusitua at fullback but now that I know Wells IS a fullback maybe we should give Wells a start at fullback should Tui go to the halves. Because Fusitua as you mentioned can finish those 0.5 chance of scoring type tries. I guess my only concern for Fusitua at the back is his ability to come into the backline play and pick out the right pass, ball play.

Have to admit Tuis is doing really well at fullback though and that's good to see.

Regarding Tui and Fusitua being similar: no I don't mean it in style but similar situation in becoming a makeshift fullback.

Now here's your conundrum lads: when RTS comes back and assuming the Leuluai love affair continues, who goes where?

No question about it. When RTS is back, Lolo to the halves.

hmmm

No question about it, RTS takes the 1 jersey. Not sure where Lolohea goes at the moment- definitely prefer him to TL...

Lolo can't be left on the wing but Cappy loves Tommy

I wanted Tui at centre so assuming RTS is 1 and Leuluai is 6 :( then has to be centre

Yep agree completely. Even though the Warriors always benefit from origin time, I hate how it interrupts the NRL schedule.

They absolutely need to have it on stand-alone weekends. I actually can't believe there isn't enough pressure on the NRL from the good clubs (who are so negatively affected by having players out) to have made this change years ago.

I suppose it's all down to reluctance to lengthen the season, which is already so long when you factor in Nines, post-season international games, etc.

The 'good' clubs may whine a bit but they're usually good enough to make the finals, and win the comp, regardless of the Origin disruption.

I love those Wednesday night games when nothing else is on but the footy, it's also great for promoting the game in Victoria because there's no AFL on.

Didn't they do Origin a while ago (about five years) on a stand alone weekend, and everyone was complaining how boring it was that there's only one game on?

18. Roache/Tevaga

Yep. TL is a better utility than both of the 18s you've named, and he's really a massive plodder at 6. All the games people think he plays well in, are actually games he has minimal involvement in therefore doesn't fully exhibit his plod.

Newcastle's No.6 better not turn out to be the same with a name like Jack Cogger

I used to love Wednesday night Origin, when I lived in Melbourne. It was a great midweek fixture. And you're right, Victoria love SOO. They crave it for their own code but it'd never fly.

Over here, it's a complete and utter nonsense at 10.30pm kickoff. And even for 8.30 over there, TV reigns and they're counting households - therefore kids in their viewership. They're missing out on young impressionable eyes, however, that are in bed.

But ignoring that, Origin is a complete disgrace. No other competition dilutes itself for a sub-competition that cannibalises their main product. I know Origin produces more revenue than the NRL loses during the shit bye weeks, so it'll continue to be so. But the product sucks through rounds 12-18 or whatever it is. We get some god awful games, the likes of the Tigers undeservedly beating the Broncos/Dragons beating the Cows, games like ours on Saturday where we were given a big leg-up etc. At the end of the day, the best side in the comp always wins the premiership so it's not a massive issue...but as a fan it's frustrating. And that's from a Warriors fan who basically always benefits.

I'm looking forward to seeing Nathan Ross again. When we thrashed the Knights earlier in the year, Ross showed some attacking strength. It'll be interesting to see how he goes this time around.

Tariq Sims has been quiet for awhile now.

Sione Matautia is coming around now.

Still we should win well as the Warrior camp is in good spirits.
