Given Jett is already almost 3 years older than Nathan was when he debuted, I don't think the "old enough" is a problem....it's the good enough that's in question.

That's what I've been thinking. The 'Cleary' name has opened doors but, you know, we don't know how first grade will treat him.

In my super expert armchair coach's opinion I don't think he's ready yet. He's tracking well, but there's still some question marks imo around his long kicking game, his passing accuracy, his game management, and his durability. I'm still not convinced he's a 7 tbh

Due back this week or next, I think. Which will create a real NSW Cup log jam in the halves: Hansen, Cleary, Tia, Linnane, with Thompson knocking on the door and Inch impressive in his first 2 Flegg outings

Newcastle won't be easybeats without Ponga and Brown. Fletcher and Sanders are not bad. We gunna have our own injury issues.

Is Hansen likely to play 5/8? CNK has not really set the world on fire there. But TT at fullback is probably a good change, based on Friday. Centre is our real issue with Adam likely out. Usually Webby is 100% easy to pick what he is going to do.

See MB is still unknown. He'd be handy to make a comeback.

Who's going to the game? I think I am.

I volunteered to work Sat back in Jan when someone was going on holiday, didn't even think of looking at the draw! While I might make kick off, traffic and parking permitted but they don't miss you on the seat prices prices for some sitting on the try line, let alone to take the whole family setting you back over $200. Also have an early trip to Sydney the next day for rep netball carnival taking out my Sunday to get all my chores done! Might be a tv viewing game.

Very cool for Hanson though, hopefully he gets a ton of family making the trip up and they’re all rocking Warriors gear in the stands.

They won’t all feature unless someone from the 13 drops out or there is a HIA. Only 4 from the bench can be used

A lot of focus understandably on Ponga and Brown being out, but we also lose a half and fullback in the same week and are down to our 5th choice in the halves, so nothing much to separate the teams there…in fact their 1/6/7 is more experienced and closer to full strength than ours.

The forwards is where we should have an advantage.

I didn't see much in trials. A lot to ask for Boyd this week, as strong as he's going at the moment, to partner a rookie half who doesn't look like he's at the level (yet). CHT took a lot of pressure off him the last two weeks.
